Gelatin Prints

In class we made gelatin molds then we turned our favorite one into an image. The thing that inspired me to do this was the fall season. I add pumpkin patches, apple trees, corn. I also was inspired by how people do maps and I did a birds-eye view of a map. How I came up with this idea was from looking at maps in the game Dungeons and Dragons where they have these very elaborate maps and diagrams and that is what I tried to draw mine after.

What materials did I use? I used colored pencils and markers. I started by drawing the paths with pencil then I added in the grass and other details. Once I finished doing the base I darkened with pencil and highlighted it with a marker to make it pop out more.

One struggle while making this was getting the corn maze to work. It was hard because the ink that was pressed was in a tight pattern so I had to make sure that there was an exit and entrance to it because it was hard to tell because it looks all the same. My favorite thing I did was going over in marker it really made the water look better and made it a little less 2d.
