Candy Still Life

In class, we had to make Candy Still Lives, and we did this by practicing with making sphere first. First, we created the spheres which helped us get an idea of how to do 3D shapes better. That materials that we used were ink, colored pencil, watercolor, and charcoal. In the main project which is the candy still life, I decided that I would pick four pieces of candy instead of three because the jolly rancher was very easy and boring to paint.

The materials that I used to make this were mainly HB pencils, acrylic, and watercolor. The reason, I used these is that I knew I need to get a good base down that would not show through the paint that much. The reason I chose acrylic as my main coat is that they pop and that is the primary paint I have at my house, and I have also worked with it before. The reason I used watercolor is that it would stand out from the bold acrylic colors.

My favorite thing about this project was adding in the shadow and just seeing it look kind of 3D. The one thing I wished I had worked on more is the reeces because it does not look that 3D.
