In and out of class I worked on my duck stamp project. It is for a competition to support wild life and promote conservation. My duck is of a King Eider which are usually found on the coast of Canada and North America. I chose it because of its bright colors for the male Eider at least. I found it just very pretty and the beak of the duck is a very interesting shape. I think that it came out pretty well but I see myself working on becoming better at painting shadows and shading with paint so that my scenes look more 3D than just having a very 2D look to them.
The materials that I used to create this scene were arylic paints and pencils. I used the pencils to get a quick out line of what my scene was going to look like then layered my paper a bunch with paints. I layered the background a bunch trying to develop a lot of different blues for my water and greens and tans for my background.
I think that it came out pretty well but I should have worked better on the duck and given it more time than the background I also should plan my scene out more in the future and really think about where I am going to place everything instead of just adding things in. But I do think the background came out rather well mainly the water.
