Elements of Design

In class we work on certain design themes. We picked two themes from are design practice sheets. Then turned them into large scale zoomed images. I had made a first draft then edited it more so that it fit with the American Flag by adding black triangles to the meteor image. My favorite image is the one of on the left. I feel like it came out the best and I put the most effort into it. The project idea came from are previous project with the American flag and the meteor one was because I felt like using circles because I felt like it would contrast well with the black triangles and white space.

The materials that I used were markers and pencils. I used the pencils to sketch out the base drawing and then used marker to go over the base drawing. I used mainly black to make the other colors in the drawings to pop from the paper. I also made sure to make the triangles try and fit together in place.

This I feel was one of my best pieces of art in a long time. I really like the finial product but wish that it did not smudge as much as it has. The biggest struggle was adding all of the triangles in and keeping them looking clean.
