What have I been most successful with?

I would say my most successful projects have been my Find Your Voice, Donate To Life and Sustained Investigations. Those have all been very successful for different reasons such as what materials I used for them and techniques I used. The Find Your Voice was strong because it had deeper meaning compared to so of my other works. It also I think could be interpreted many different ways. I think it is also strong because I was stepping out of my comfort zone and using more defined brush strokes and not layering as much as I usually do. For my Donate To Life the waterfall just came out really well I am not the best at painting realistic but the ripples on the water and the water coming crashing down is some of my best realistic work I have done even if it is not perfect. My Sustained Investigations came out strong because of my idea and I like working with paper and glue and making things out of paper or felt or leather. The forms on the pieces also just are all very different from each other even though I am using the same question they all have very different looks to them.

What have you struggled with?

I have struggled with not getting down on myself when I am not doing something right if that means when I am struggling painting something how I want or cutting. I have struggled with not getting down on myself about it but I think I am improving. I struggled with the Duck Stamp that is mainly because I am not the best realistic painter or artist. I struggle with making shadows and proper lighting in the work that I try and make realistic I also struggle with depth but I think my depth in my works is getting better but still a struggle for me. I also struggle painting or drawing people even if they are really basic like in my Inclusion work which I think the people look fine but the head shape is still off. Most of the things I am struggling on I have improved on this year because the waterfall I made for my Donate To Life I do not think I could have made in 9th grade and same for most of my projects this year.

What are your artistic goals moving forward?

My goals moving forward are to be better at going out of my comfort zone with materials because I think I need to try other materials to see if there are any others that I like. I need to also just do more art I think I should push myself to do art outside of class and not just assignments I get because that is how I will grow as a artist. I will complete these goals just by pacing myself and making sure that I take more time to think about what am I going to do for my project before jumping into with no plan. I should be more prepared for project by setting myself up better before I making my first moves on starting my actual art work.
