PARISH POST

our mission: TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO LOVE, SERVE, AND KNOW GOD AND ONE ANOTHER.

March 28- April 4, 2024

He said to them, “Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him.  Mk16:6

WORSHIP

Wednesday Adoration will be from  1 p.m. - 4 p.m. beginning April 3rd.
Thursday, April 4th will be a Communion Service in lieu of Mass.  Time will remain at 9:25am.

Good Friday Fasting

On Good Friday, fasting is obligatory for all who have completed their 18th year and have not yet reached their 60th year. Fasting allows a person to eat one full meal. Two smaller meals may be taken, not to equal one full meal. Abstinence (from meat) is obligatory for all who have reached their 14th year. If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter Vigil as the “paschal fast” to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to celebrate more readily his Resurrection.

Join Us for the Easter Vigil

Join us at the Easter Vigil as we welcome 17 catechumens & candidates into the Catholic Church.

The Great Vigil of Easter is one of the most beautiful and oldest known rites of the church, dating back to the second century. It brings worshippers, literally and symbolically, from darkness into light. Celebrate the first Eucharist of the Easter season and the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation for those joining the Catholic faith. A reception will follow immediately after Mass.

Environmental Concerns Committee

Thanks also to everyone who helped in our recycling efforts at the fish fry. In 5 weeks, we recycled 15 bags of cans, 8 bags of plastic bottles, 329 aluminum food trays,180 large tin cans, 4 bags of pull tabs, and lots of cardboard as well. We made a good first step in helping our fish fries go “green.” And perhaps even more importantly, we encouraged others to become more aware and more active in recycling. Remember, you do make a difference, please make it a positive one. Thanks! Environmental Ernie
