The eCarUp account of a driver can be linked to any RFID / NFC tag. Afterwards, charging stations can be activated by this user directly with the deposited tag and do not have to be activated via the app (e.g. underground car park without mobile phone / company badge). The respective RFID tags are installed at the driver accounts - not in the station owners account.
*CarID only works with the smart-me AG pico charging station in an initial implementation.
Important Note
This works only with Stations, which have an RFID / NFC reader.
It is possible, that an RFID tag can be read at eCarUp APP, which is not supported by the station (primarily pay attention to compatibility with the station).
Activation with RFID cards does not meet the high security requirements of eCarUp. RFID cards can easily be copied and forged. Adding and using RFID cards is at your own risk.
eCarUp does not issue its own RFID / NFC cards. Adding and managing the tags must be done by the driver himself.
The RFID tags can only be used for on-site activation of eCarUp charging stations and do not work for stations from third-party networks. (e.g. Hubject)
Attention: SwissPass has 2 RFID tags, eCarUp recommends to deposit both.
How to add your NFC / RFID Card
1. Log in to the Driver account which you want to link with an RFID / NFC tag. In the navigation on the left, click on the menu item Driver and then RFID cards.
2. Click on Add RFID Card, give the card a name and enter the desired Tag ID (UID).
3. You can determine the Tag ID (UID) by reading the desired RFID tag. This can be done either directly via an RFID reader (e.g. in a company) or via an app with a mobile phone that has an NFC reader. An example is the free app NFC-Tools (Apple suppresses the reading of RFID / NFC numbers).
4. Your Tag-ID is now linked to the account and can be used for activation.
Example:
Anleitung Android App
Requirement: Android phone with NFC function.
1. Log in to the driver account you want to link with RFID/NFC tag via eCarUp Android app. In the menu below, click Account and then RFID cards.
2. Click the + icon on the top right, then you can specify the name and tag ID (same as on the web).
3. If your Android smartphone has NFC function, you can read the tag of the desired card directly. To do this, hold the card up to your device from the back (where most NFC readers are placed).
If you enter the tag ID (UID) manually , you can determine it by reading the desired RFID tag. This can be done either directly via an RFID reader (e.g. in a company) or via an app with a cell phone that has an NFC reader. An example is the free app NFC-Tools (Apple suppresses the reading of RFID / NFC numbers).
4. Your tag ID is now linked to the account and can be used for unlocking.
Instructions iOS (Apple) App
Requirement: Apple cell phone with NFC function (from iOS 14 & > iPhone 6).
1. In the eCarUp app (iOS), log in to the driver account you want to associate with an RFID/NFC tag. In the menu at the bottom, click Account and then RFID Cards.
2. Click the + icon on the top right, then you can specify the name and tag ID (same as on the web).
3. If your Apple smartphone has NFC function (>Iphone 10), you can read the tag of the desired card directly. To do this, hold the card from the back (where most NFC readers are placed) to your device.
If you don't have an Apple smartphone with NFC function, the tag ID (UID) has to be entered manually:
You can determine the tag ID by reading the desired RFID tag. This can be done either directly via an RFID reader (e.g. in a company) or via an app with a cell phone that has an NFC reader. An example is the free app NFC Tools (Apple only supports this from iOS version 13/14).
4. Your tag ID is now linked to the account and can be used for unlocking.
