*CarID only works with the smart-me AG pico charging station in an initial implementation.
Important
The respective RFID tags are installed at the driver accounts - not at the station owner.
Not all stations have an RFID / NFC reader. Therefore, an RFID tag cannot be used at every station.
RFID tags compatible with Pico compatible RFID tags (technical data)
It is possible that an RFID tag can be read at eCarUp, which is not supported by the station (primarily pay attention to compatibility with the station).
Activation with RFID cards does not meet the high security requirements of eCarUp. RFID cards can be easily copied and forged. Adding and using RFID cards is at your own risk.
eCarUp does not issue its own RFID / NFC cards. Adding and managing the tags must be done by the driver himself.
The RFID tags can only be used for local activation of eCarUp charging stations and do not work for stations from third party networks (e.g. Hubject).
In the eCarUp system, the TagID of the RFID card can only be assigned once to a user. (Protective function)
Instructions:
Instructions Android App:
Requirement: Android phone with NFC function.
1. Log in to the driver account you want to link with RFID/NFC tag via eCarUp Android app. In the menu below, click Account and then RFID cards.
2. Click the + icon on the top right, then you can specify the name and tag ID (same as on the web).
3. If your Android smartphone has NFC function, you can read the tag of the desired card directly. To do this, hold the card up to your device from the back (where most NFC readers are placed).
If you enter the tag ID (UID) manually , you can determine it by reading the desired RFID tag. This can be done either directly via an RFID reader (e.g. in a company) or via an app with a cell phone that has an NFC reader. An example is the free app NFC-Tools (Apple suppresses the reading of RFID / NFC numbers).
4. Your tag ID is now linked to the account and can be used for unlocking.
Instructions iOS App:
Requirement: Apple cell phone with NFC function (from iOS 14 & > iPhone 6).
1. In the eCarUp app (iOS), log in to the driver account you want to associate with an RFID/NFC tag. In the menu at the bottom, click Account and then RFID Cards.
2. Click the + icon on the top right, then you can specify the name and tag ID (same as on the web).
3. If your Apple smartphone has NFC function (>Iphone 10), you can read the tag of the desired card directly. To do this, hold the card from the back (where most NFC readers are placed) to your device.
If you don't have an Apple smartphone with NFC function, the tag ID (UID) has to be entered manually:
You can determine the tag ID by reading the desired RFID tag. This can be done either directly via an RFID reader (e.g. in a company) or via an app with a cell phone that has an NFC reader. An example is the free app NFC Tools (Apple only supports this from iOS version 13/14).
4. Your tag ID is now linked to the account and can be used for unlocking.
CarID:
The Plug & Charge function enables user-friendly and secure authentication between the electric vehicle and a charging station, making activation via app or RFID card unnecessary.
After registering the vehicle once with the eCarUp app, it is sufficient for the user to connect the electric vehicle for each charging process. The vehicle automatically transmits the data required to authorise the payment process to the charging station.
Important: Currently, this function only works with the Pico from smart-me AG.
Linking to the account
Basic requirement: The Pico station operator must have activated the function on the charging station.
Connect your vehicle to the Pico
Auth appears on the display
Wait until the red cross appears on the display.
You can then start the charging process as usual via the eCarUp app.
As soon as this has happened, a pop-up window from eCarUp will appear as follows.
Important: As soon as the car is no longer in your possession, please delete the link between the CarID and your account.
