eCarUp recommends the following procedure:
1. Installing the station
Make sure that your charging station is compatible with eCarUp. You can find an always up-to-date OCPP charging stations list
Install your station and put it into operation. The stations must have a stable internet connection and port 53 (DNS) & port 80 (or the port configured on the station) must be open on the output side. The stations must be able to communicate with our servers for successful integration. Make sure that communication is not blocked (e.g. firewalls etc.).
If you are still looking for a SIM card, we recommend SIM cards from our partner
You must have access to the station's interface and be on the same network.
Important: If your station is not on the list of compatible stations, please contact us.
2. Create and registration
Create an eCarUp account: Registration.
Have the OCPP URL from your account ready for the connection of the station(s) to our account.
The vast majority of stations only support the URL: ws://....
In order to be able to charge the credit card and receive money from the earnings, you need to verify your account, you can find the information on this page.
Then follow our instructions to connect your OCPP station to the eCarUp backend: instructions
Important: eCarUp does not create measurement points in advance, it will as soon the station communicates with the backend for the first time. Therefore eCarUp does not know about the existence of the station unitl the first working OCPP package is received from the station. Difficulties can occur in the following cases:
No active Internet connection
Firewall blocks outgoing communication
The SIM card is not active or has no connection.
As soon as the station has actively established communication with eCarUp, the system creates a measuring point in your account (in the station management).
3. Set up measuring point
Now you can set up the measuring point/ charging point according to your needs.
Define prices, location, special users and other parameters: station owner
To make it as easy as possible for users to charge without beeing an eCarUp-App user, you can also equip the stations with QR codes and labelling: QR code labelling
If you would like to use RFID / NFC tags, you can find all the information on this page.
If the station is to be optionally published in the roaming network, you can find all the information on our roaming page. Please note the associated restrictions regarding opening hours and pricing.
eCarUp recommends always carrying out a test charge at the end.
