RHS Korean Parent Association

Thank you to the Ridgewood High School Korean Parent Association for their generous donation given to the Guidance Department which will be used to help students and parents with the college admission process. Mr. Nyhuis and Mr. Bailey accepted the check at the RHS HSA meeting.

Sharing the Joy of Invention

RHS InvenTeam and seven Applied Engineering teams shared their inventions in livestream and in on-demand presentations for    Super Science Saturday. Here are some examples.

Sophomore Focus

RHS Enrichment Morning

This week, Mr. Fabish taught lessons to students in Sophomore FOCUS on leadership and culture. Leadership is action, not a title or a position!

Seniors from the RHS Track & Field Team presented to faculty during last Friday's enrichment morning. They created a video thanking our custodial staff for all that they do for RHS!

Pictured seniors include: Hannah Brodsky, James Barbi, Lucia Rabolli, and Rohan Jha.

In the Classroom

Level 2 Spanish

Students in Level 2 Spanish acted out a dinner date.  Along with managing menus, food and drink, and payment, they had to navigate the mistakes their waiters made with object pronouns and the past tense.  They are ready to go out and eat abroad!

Crime and Mystery H

Ms. John's Crime and Mystery H class solving a murder as a group!

Club Happenings

French Club

NJ History Day

The French Club held a meeting on Wednesday, March 2nd, to talk about Mardi Gras. The club watched a presentation and a video explaining this exciting New Orleans tradition.  While the students didn't have the chance to enjoy the "Gâteau des Rois," a traditional New Orleans cake eaten during this period, they were able to have a small taste of French crepes served with chocolate coulis. It's never too late to join in the fun! If interested, please contact Madame Palumbo.

RHS sophomores, Josh Fishkin and Lauren Lim, and junior, Kevin Park are state qualifiers in the Rutgers University-Camden Regional Contest of NJ History Day. Using judges' evaluations, the qualifiers now have the opportunity to revise their entries for the May 7th state competition.

Please join me in congratulating these student historians on their achievements!

FTC Robotics Team

The FTC Robotics Team "The Woodchips" wrapped up their competitive season with a strong showing at the regional competition at Glen Rock HS. Teamwork was on display as they pitched in to free their bus from an icy parking spot to make it to the meet in time. Highlights from the season included being the first team in NJ to place a capstone in competition scoring over 100 points in a match, and they were recognized by the FTC organization through its Connect Award, receiving second place this year. This judged award is given to the team that most connects with their local science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) community. The team once again participated in Super Science Saturday, creating a fun video about the team. Two of our members, Michael Ip and Anna Williams, became finalists in the Dean's List awards which considers academic performance and the values of STEM education.

Mentor/Coaches, Mr. Wohner and Mr. Van Treuren, are looking forward to building upon this success next year, and they wish to thank the community for their continued support.
