Why do utilities need to be on at my vacant unit?

We require vacant units to have utilities on for two reasons.

First, we need to make sure the utilities are in working order before a tenant tries to switch service into her name. If utilities are off when a tenant moves in, the utility providers may find issues like a faulty meter or a broken supply line, which will cause delays in service and make for a negative move-in experience.

Second, we need to make sure the utility-related infrastructure inside the house is in working order before the tenant arrives. For example, we need to have the water on to make sure there are no leaky pipes or fixtures.

We can provide additional services to turn on electricity/gas and water at your vacant unit.
