How do I request that Rentor increase the rent?

Please feel free to email us at Support@Rentor.com or give us a call at (707) 444-3835 if you wish to request that we initiate a rent increase.  It is important to note that we cannot increase the rent if a resident is on a fixed term lease.

As of January 1, 2001, a landlord must give the tenant at least 30 days’ advance notice if the rent increase is 10 percent (or less) of the rent charged at any time during the 12 months before the rent increase takes effect. A landlord must give 60 days’ advance notice if the rent increase is greater than 10 percent. (Civil Code Section 827b.)    NOTE: It is a common misconception that you have to give 60 days notice to increase rent if they have lived in the unit for longer than one year. While the length of a tenancy does affect the notice period for termination, it almost never affects the notice period for a rent increase.

We recommend keeping Rental Rates comparative with market rental rates as this makes your rental units competitive and reduces the chances that a tenant will move out after receiving notification that the rent is being increased.  Please see: How much will my property rent for? for more information.

Please note that Rentor conducts a full portfolio wide "Rent Review" in February each year.
