Coronavirus: circular message to friends

April 19, 2020

Together with other institutions and citizens, we ask that the government protect the population from a serious problem that exists in Bangladesh. The tea glasses of the mini-bars on the street and the glasses of water, in restaurants, washed with cold water have become a great risk for the transmission of Coronavirus. If staying close to others has become dangerous, much more dangerous to drink from a glass used by another if this glass has not been washed in boiling water.

Anyone who defaults commits a crime for culpable epidemic.

We therefore ask the government for prompt intervention by advising the population that in addition to washing their hands, respecting the distance from people and paying attention to coughing and sneezing, ask that before drinking a glass, in a public place, it is absolutely washed with water hot or is replaced by a "disposable" as soon as normal activities resume.

The following is to be copied, pasted and sent, in the next two days, to the three email addresses; two from the Ministry and one from us to find out how many attended.

To the health Minister Sr. Jonah Jahid Malek: minister@mohfw.gov.bd

Petition to the competent Authorities

Together with other Institutions and citizens we ask the Government to protect the population from a serious problem existing in Bangladesh. The cups and glass used for tea in small dhokans on the streets, the cups and glass in restaurants are washed with cold water, therefore they have become a huge risk for the transmission of coronavirus. Standing close to other people is dangerous, but it is far more dangerous to drink from a cup or a glass used by another person if it has not been sanitized with boiling water. Those who fail to do so commit a crime for helping the spread of the epidemic. Therefore, we ask the Government to intervene immediately by warning the people to wash their hands, maintain social distancing, cover mouth and nose when they cough or sneeze, but also ask for cup and glass rinsed in boiling water or use disposable cups and glass.
