Cloud Search is a Google App that searches all the content you have access to through your Google account. It is particularly helpful if you can't remember where you saw some information because you only need to type in a few keywords and it will search your Gmail, Drive, Shared Drives, and more.
Step 1
Open Cloud Search
A. Open Chrome and select the App Menu (waffle icon) at the top right of the page.
B. You may need to scroll down to find Cloud Search.
C. Select the Cloud Search Icon to open it.
Step 2
Type in Search Terms
A. Select this link if you want to view and edit your list of contacts or your personal contact info.
B. Quick links to documents you've worked with recently
C. Quick link to activities on your calendar.
D. Settings where you can adjust your Recent Activity controls to adjust how Google tracks and uses your activity.
E. Type in a keyword from the content you are looking for.
Step 3
Refine Your Search
A. There is a list of content descriptions and links based on your search term. If you can't find what you are looking for in that list it may help to narrow your search.
B. Narrow your search by selecting a category for the item you are looking for.
C. Narrow your search by limiting how long ago your content was edited.
D. Narrow your search by indicating if you own the document or if it was shared with you.
E. Narrow your search by indicating what type of content you are looking for. Note, if you select a different category in 3B you will have different options.
