School board policy 8330 designates a student's name, photo, participation in activities, height/weight (if a member of an athletic team), date of graduation, degrees and awards as 'directory data'.
Annual 'Back-to-School' forms provide parents an opportunity to restrict the district from sharing directory data with specific groups. Parents can also make changes to their preferences through Skyward's Family Access as described in the directions below. District staff cannot alter these settings without documentation from the guardian requesting the change.

Step 1
Open Student Information page
Login to Family/Student Access
A. Guardians with more than one student in the district will have to select which one they want to edit. Note: You will need to edit each student individually if you want the same change applied to each.
B. Select the 'Student Info' tab at the left.
C. Select the link to 'Request Changes for [Student Name]' to open a dropdown menu listing areas you can change.
D. Select 'Student Information' from the dropdown menu.
Step 2
Edit Allowed Publications
A. Scroll to the bottom of the 'Student Information' page.
B. Select the drop down menu next to each category to 'Yes' if you would like to allow it or 'No' if you wish to restrict the district in sharing data with that group.
Military: Federal law requires high schools to provide student names, addresses, and telephone listings to military recruiters unless the parent requests it be restricted.
District: This covers internal district-managed publications including the school yearbook, graduation programs, athletic rosters, and theater playbills.
Higher Ed: This pertains to requests from colleges, universities, and trade schools that may need student transcripts to consider an application.
Local: This applies to organizations within the community that request directory information for youth-related activities, such as local sports leagues or community scholarship committees.
Public: This category covers media outlets such newspapers and social media platforms. Note: The district can only control what we provide, it cannot restrict a newspaper from taking pictures at a public school event or from publishing any information about a student they obtain from other sources.
C. Select the 'Save' button when you are finished.
