Teachers are expected to post grades when the grading window is open towards the end of each trimester. Posting requires you to review events (assignments) to determine an overall grade for each grading category (standard) in your class for that term. You can also add standard or free written comments with each grade. The final grade you produce and comments will be included on the report cards sent to families.
Step 1
Open Skyward to the gradebook for one of the classes you need to post.
Step 2
Select a colored grading category (standard) which is found in front of the events (assignments) within that category. (Yours may not be blue)
Step 3
Reflect on the events in that grade category as well as grades you assigned previous trimesters to determine the student's current level of understanding in that grade category. Write that grade in the 'Grade' column. You can open a small window with an explanation of each grade mark by selecting the 'Grade Marks' link.
Step 4
After you are done recording student grades, select 'Save'.
Step 5
Continue this process for each grade category in your gradebook and for each of your classes.
Step 6
If you would like you can go under the Gradebook menu and select Posting Status to check boxes indicating that you have posted grades for each class but that step is no longer required.
