Export and download your Google data for Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and Account Activity. Data you choose to be deleted in this process will be removed from your account but archival records are retained by the school district.
Step 1
Log into your Google Account.
Step 2
Go to the Google Takeout page.
Step 3
The Google products that hold your data are automatically selected. If you don’t want to download data from a product, uncheck the box beside it. If you only want to download some of your data from a product, you may have the option to select a button like All data included . Then, you can uncheck the box next to data you don’t want to include.
Step 4
Select Next step. Be aware that your data file may not include changes made to your data between when you request a download and when you create your archive. Learn more about what data may not be included.
Step 5
There are a few different methods to choose from but it is advised you select the option to 'Send download link via email' so you receive an email with a download link for your archived data. For that option where you are asked for a "Delivery method," select 'Send download link via email'.
Step 6
Select Create export.
Step 7
You will receive an email to connect with the archived data. Depending on the amount of information in your account, this process could take from a few minutes to a few days. Follow the directions that come to your private email to select 'Download archive'.
Step 8
Follow the steps on the screen to download your Google data. If you are asked for an archive type it is suggested you choose 'Create a single archive of your selected data'. If you are asked for a file type it is suggested you choose 'Zip file'.
Step 9
Depending on the amount of data you transferred it may be contained within a Zip file which may have a few steps requiring processing when you open it.
