These directions guide Greenfield and Viking teachers through the steps of creating a PDF of report cards for a class which can be printed.
Step 1
Open Gradebook for your class
Select the specific class for which you want to print report cards. Not selecting a class will result in printing a copy for every student in all your classes.
Step 2
Standards Report Card from Reports Menu
A. Open the 'Reports' tab on the top menu
B. Select 'Standards Report Card' from the 'Reports' menu.
Step 3
Templates
If you created a report card template and it appears here you can skip to Step 6.
Notice the Seq# on the left of the reports. Teachers are not able to edit the ones numbered in the 900s or 800s but they can 'Clone' those reports and edit the copy that makes. Your edited copy will only be visible to you.
A. Select the '900 Curr Term; Regular Report Card' because it is the closest to the report you will want to set up.
B. Select the 'Clone Template' button.
Step 4
Name your Template
A. A Sequence # will be automatically assigned but you can change the number if you choose.
B. Give your report template a name you will recognize as yours.
C. Select the 'Save' button.
Step 5
Template Set-Up
A. Select which term grades you would like to show on the report card.
B. Leave all these boxes unchecked.
Note: The box to 'Print for this class only' misleads some people. Checking the box leads to errors or printing a report card that only shows the grades from the gradebook that is currently open.
C. Selecting 'Print for First Family Only' will give you one copy of each report card, which you could copy or reprint. Alternatively you could select 'Print for all Families' if you would like to send home multiple copies of the report card with students whose parents do not have the same address.
Note: Parent information does not display on the report cards so each copy will look identical.
D. This district has not set up a report card in a foreign language so these buttons have little effect.
E. Select the 'Save' button.
Step 6
Select a Template
A. Select the template you have created.
B. Select 'Modify parameters of Template' to adjust which trimester will print.
Step 7
Select the Term
A. Select which trimester grades you would like to show on the report card.
Note: In most cases teachers print grades for a trimester that has just recently ended. You would likely not want to select 'Current Term' as your option here because it will create a section of grades on the report card for the trimester that has just began rather than the one that has just ended.
B. Select the 'Save' button.
Step 8
A. Select the template you have created.
B. Select the 'Print' button.
Step 9
Display Report
The 'My Print Queue' screen shows the report is running for a few seconds until the 'Report Finished Processing' screen appears.
A. Select the 'Display Report' button
Step 10
Printer Icon
Check over the reports to ensure teachers have all submitted grades correctly. If a section does not have a grade you should check with the front office to make sure they are ready to print.
A. Select the printer icon and follow regular printing directions. You will likely want to print two-sided.
