DRC is the testing application used for FORWARD state testing. The app is only available through kiosk mode on a district managed Chromebook. The app provides a 'Readiness Test' that should be used on every Chromebook used in testing to determine if the Chromebook set up and ready.
The DRC Readiness Test Slideshow gives these same instructions in a slide show you can show to your class.
Step 1
Open the DRC App
Power on a Chromebook to get to the login screen but do not login at this time.
A. Select the app folder at the bottom left of the login screen.
B. Select 'DRC Insight' from the list of apps that appear. Note: The apps available in the menu will change throughout the year.
Step 2
Select Wisconsin
A. On the screen that comes up select Wisconsin as your testing program.
Step 3
Select Readiness Check
A. At the top right select the link labeled 'Readiness Check'
Step 4
Enter Access code
A. Enter '7745' as the Access Code
B. Select the 'Submit' button
Step 5
Execute Test
A. Select the 'Execute Test' button at the bottom.
B. Green Check marks indicate it has passed the corresponding test.
C. If a chromebook does not pass a test you can check for details. Addressing the issues in the details and/or restarting the Chromebook may address the issues. If a test cannot be passed the problem should be submitted to helpdesk@bwsd.k12.wi.us. Including information about the test it failed and the specific Chromebook that failed would be helpful.
Step 6
Select Test Audio
Note: You should conduct the audio test as close to the real testing environment as possible. Disconnect audio equipment that will not be used during testing and connect any that will be used before testing.
A. Select the 'Test Audio' button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7
Select Record
Read directions on the screen for an overview of the process
A. Select the 'Record' button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 8
Test Microphone
A. You are given a few seconds to record yourself counting. This blue bar moves across like a timer.
B. This bar shows the level of audio being recorded.
C. Select the 'Stop' button to end the recording early.
Step 9
Test Audio Playback
A. Select the 'Play Recording' button at the bottom of the screen.
B. Select the 'Stop' button to end the playback early.
C. If playback was not successful you can make adjustments to your audio setup and select the 'Try again' button to repeat the test.
D. When you are satisfied with your recording select the 'I heard my recording' button.
Step 9
Test Audio Playback
A. A green check mark indicates this Chromebook has passed the audio test.
B. Select the 'Exit' button to end the test and return to the Chromebook login screen.
