Learner Experiences

People can expect to learn about all aspects of mental health in detail during this course. From things that impact a person’s wellbeing to detailed information about conditions that can affect others.

Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed this course in S4. Every week we learn something new and interesting.

I have gained a better under of mental health, that without the course I wouldn’t have. I am more open to discussing mental health and willing to keep learning about it.

I would encourage others to consider taking this course as it further develops people’s understanding of mental health, learning about a range of subtopics each week. There is a bunch of things you do in this class from working on One Note to other educational/fun activities such as making information posters.

Erin, S4

Other people can experience doing relaxed p.e related to mental health, such as yoga, which is really a mood lifter, it calms you down if you are having a bad day or even just not feeling 100%, people can also expect to learn more about mental health itself and how to work with it in better ways and the work you do in this course helps a lot for either personal reasons or just if you want to learn more about it.

The highlight of this course has definitely been learning more about how to deal with situations but also I loved doing the physical p.e related to mental health, it was relaxing and also fun, and I enjoyed watching videos/documentaries on different subjects to do with mental health, I suggest taking this course.

The skills and knowledge I’ve gained from this course is to look at situations and problems from a different point of view and think of how you can solve things, in a positive way, turn the negative into positive, and how to deal with certain things without hurting anyone or hurting yourself, there has been a lot of skills and knowledge in this course that I have not really thought about and now know, it goes deep into mental health and some of personal problems that people have and we focus on different topics and work on them.

I definitely would encourage others to take this course because not only if your wanting to know more about it, it can also help you in other personal ways, and the strategies you get taught and the skills are very helpful, so I do recommend taking this course.
