FA Children & Young People (L6)

Every child deserves the best start in life, and by enrolling on this course you can help to make sure this happens. If you enjoy working with young people, making sure they are healthy and happy and seeing them play, learn and develop confidence, this Foundation Apprenticeship could be for you.

Specifically this Foundation Apprenticeship will prepare you for roles such as:

• Social Worker

• Nursery Worker

• Childminder

• Playworker

There's a big demand for skilled people in the sector, meaning there are lots of job opportunities and great progression routes!

Qualifications you gain

You’ll achieve a Foundation Apprenticeship (Group Award) in Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 6, which includes:

• Four units from the SVQ2 in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6

• A National Progression Award in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6

Entry requirements

Pupils must be on track to achieve a National 5 in English, and will also be asked to attend an in-school interview as part of the course choice process.
