Homework
Homework will be set by the class teacher on a regular basis, this will be available on TEAMs. This will link directly to the theory work completed in class.
Assessments/what you will learn
This qualification is internally assessed by Kemnay Academy PE teachers.
Coaching Development:
- Successful delivery of a programme of 6 planned coaching sessions.
- Satisfactory coaching observation.
- Completed Coaching Booklet, complete with record of coaching.
Participation and Performance:
- Completed Performance Booklet, evidencing 20 hours of performance development.
- Evident improvement in performance.
Officiating and Organising:
- Observation of successful officiating.
- Satisfactory 'Laws of the Game' assessment.
- Successful organisation of an event/tournament, backed up by planning documents.
Pupils should bring a full change of kit that is suitable for each activity.
Entry Requirements
It is recommended that you have taken Performance PE in S3. Nonetheless, a keen interest in sport and physical activity as well as a suitable work ethic is beneficial.
Progression
Pupils may wish to progress on to one of the following opportunities in S5/6; National 5 PE, Sports Development NPA or Football Refereeing Level 7
What will you study in this course?
In Team Sports NPA, we will have a distinct focus on Football. In, through and about this activity, pupils will work collaboratively with their peers and the community to develop their own performance as well as their coaching and officiating abilities, developing many of the skills from the skill framework.
There are three core units to the qualification:
- Coaching Development
- Participation and Performance
- Officiating and Organising
The aim of the course is for pupils to develop their own performance, officiate sufficiently within a real-world environment, organise events for large groups of people, and to develop their ability in coaching to improve other people's’ performance.

This course is for students who enjoy sport, in particularly football and/or who wish to commence further education studies with Sports, Outdoor or Fitness industry.
