This exciting new course offers a practical introduction to starting a business, working in a team, and exploring career opportunities in the business world. Students will develop key business skills and behaviours, learn how to take a business idea from concept to start-up, and gain insight into finance, legal requirements, and e-business. As part of Young Enterprise, students will set up and run their own business, compete against other teams, and receive expert guidance from industry professionals and a business advisor. Students will achieve an SQA-accredited NPA qualification, as well as an SCQF Level 6 qualification for their Young Enterprise work, equipping them with valuable skills for the future.

General Aims:
To focus and develop an appropriate range of functional skills and knowledge of Sports Development which reflect the ongoing and rapid changes within the industry.
To develop options to meet the needs of the industry and allow the candidate to make informed choices regarding possible career pathways based upon their specific interests and skills.
To provide delivery centres with a flexible award which can be tailored to suit their individual and market needs, hence increasing candidate employability via relevant and ongoing education.

This Award would be relevant to a wide range of learners who have an interest in finding out about Scotland, its people and its linguistic, social, cultural, scientific and/or natural heritage.
Should you be doing (or achieved previously) 3 of the Highers below, it could be possible for you to achieve an additional level 6 (Higher equivalent) qualification in Scottish Studies:
Art, English, Environmental Science, Geography, History, Modern Studies, Philosophy, Media, Drama, Music, and/or Business Management.
