This course has no exam and is internally assessed.

You will develop your leadership skills by researching different leadership styles and evaluating your own ability to be a leader.
You will develop your reading and listening skills in the foreign language.
You will learn how to hold conversations on the themes of society and culture, teaching you how to get by when meeting people for the first time when living abroad.
You will learn how to converse professionally in the foreign language by taking part in a short conversation about working and living abroad and your future plans.
Studying French, German or Spanish will improve your English and make travel more fun.
The course will be very practical and will teach you how to hold short conversations in the foreign language which will allow you to get by if you travel or live abroad in future.
In addition, the course will include help you to develop Employability & Leadership Skills which you'll require in your life and work beyond school.
This will be a very practical course based around the skills of Listening & Talking, therefore much of the activities will involve working in pairs and in groups to practise and develop your confidence in the language.
As the course is run in 2 periods per week you will very quickly acquire vocabulary to use in day-to-day conversation as well as in work scenarios, giving the course a very practical nature.

Modern Languages for Life Unit
1 x Reading Assessment (containing 2 texts)
1 x Listening Assessment (containing 2 texts)
Modern Languages for Work
1 x Writing Assessment
1 x Talking Assessment (straightforward job related conversation of around 4 minutes).
This course is suitable for all S5/6 learners, particularly those with an interest in language learning.
Homework will be set by the class teacher on a regular basis, this will be available on TEAMs.

Level 6 Languages for Life & Work S5/6 CORE Option.
National 5 in the language studied.
National 4 or 5 in another language (dependant on prior experience).
Higher in the language studied (dependant on language acquisition).
