This course has no exam and is internally assessed.

Pupils will choose to study the Level 6 Award in French, German or Spanish, the language will be determined by the majority in the course.
You will develop your leadership skills by researching different leadership styles and evaluating your own ability to be a leader.
You will develop your reading and listening skills in the foreign language.
You will learn how to hold conversations on the themes of society and culture, teaching you how to get by when meeting people for the first time when living abroad.
You will learn how to converse professionally in the foreign language by delivering a presentation on an aspect of the World of Work, followed by a discussion about part-time jobs and your future intentions.
Studying French, German or Spanish will improve your English and make travel more fun.
The course will be very practical and will teach you how to hold short conversations in the foreign language which will allow you to get by if you travel or live abroad in future.
In addition, the course will include help you to develop Employability & Leadership Skills which you'll require in your life & work beyond school.
This will be a very practical course based around the skills of Listening & Talking, therefore much of the activities will involve working in pairs and in groups to practise and develop your confidence in the language.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about working life abroad, whilst developing skills in reading and writing in the foreign language.

1 x Reading Assessment (containing 2 texts)
1 x Listening Assessment (containing 2 texts)
Modern Languages for Work
1 x Writing Assessment
1 x Talking Assessment (2 minute presentation, followed by a 4-6 minute discussion).
National 5 Grade A-C in any language.
Higher Pass (A-C) in any language.
Level 5 Languages for Life and Work Award - Pass.
Homework will be set by the class teacher on a regular basis, this will be available on TEAMs.
