Why do this course?
This course is for students who would like to further develop their own personal and employability skills through areas such as Interpersonal and Self-Management Skills, Enterprise, Digital Skills or Customer Care. Skills gained in this course would help learners gain entry to apprenticeships, further study or help with transitioning into the world of work.
What will you experience?
There are two areas of study; Personal Development and Employability Skills. These are delivered through a range of SCQF units developing different skills which focus on these two areas.
What will you learn?
The programme is delivered through a range of units and modules which contribute towards a recognised Prince's Trust and SQA qualification at SCQF Level 3, 4 or 5 and develop the personal, social and health education of students. The units help young people to develop skills in key curriculum areas, preparing them to succeed in whatever they choose to do next.
The menu of units available is split into six modules:
Skills for school
Personal, social development
Life skills
Active citizenship
Enterprise Projects
Preparation for work
The course will allow pupils to develop a range of skills. Through each of the units they will have the opportunity to
Deliver a community project, considering how to make a difference to those around them
Learn all sorts of new skills to help with meeting new people and building confidence
Take on a business challenge to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test
Improve their knowledge and ability of look after themselves and live a healthy life

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No entry requirements are required to access this course, but it would be on the recommendation of Principal Teacher of Additional Support for Learning and in discussion with Principal Teacher of Guidance.
Homework
Pupils are directed to make use of Microsoft TEAMs to continue to develop work that is introduced and started in class. This work is a core element of the evidence required to pass each unit.
Assessment
Units are assessed on an ongoing basis using tracking sheets to record the activities carried out in order to evidence each of the required unit outcomes.
This evidence is submitted to Princes Trust at key dates through the year for verification prior to units begin awarded.
Progression and Employment

Progression
Learners can develop their skills and experience further through work/volunteer experiences and those who have previously completed their SCQF in Personal Development and Employability Certificate at Level 4 may choose to try different units to complete the Level 5 Certificate.
Employment
By its very nature this course will build key employability and interpersonal skills which can be applied to all workplace settings.
