New Staff Member — Leila Balza

"Hello! I am Leila Balza and I am a new 4th Grade English Language Arts Teacher at Luxemburg-Casco Intermediate School. As I start my tenth year as an educator, but my first year at L-C, I am rejuvenated from a wonderful summer and am excited to see what the year will bring. My favorite part of teaching is to watch all the successes of my rock-star 4th graders as they problem solve, create, and become engaged learners. I am happy to “work” each day with such an amazing group of students and staff at LCIS!

A little about myself... I grew up in Door County and attended Silver Lake College in Manitowoc. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2008. While studying at Silver Lake, I met my best friend and husband, Gregory. We have been married since 2010 and reside here in Luxemburg. Gregory and I have a four-year-old son, Owen, that keeps us on our toes and proves that every day is an adventure!

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks, camping, and cooking. I also love to go for moped rides around Kewaunee County with friends."
