School Immunization Clinic Scheduled for April

Post date: Feb 03, 2017 4:31:32 PM

To assist parents in vaccinating their children, the Kewaunee County Public Health Department will hold an immunization clinic at Luxemburg-Casco on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. We will offer Menactra, a meningococcal vaccine. This vaccine is not required by school law, but is recommended for all children over the age of 10. Children should receive one dose prior to age 16 and one dose after age 16. It helps prevent meningitis (serogroups A, C, W and Y). We will also have Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and acellular Pertussis) on hand for any child who may still need this WI School Law required vaccine.

If you want your child to receive either vaccination at school, please read the Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) carefully and sign and return the Authorization to Receive form to your child's school by Friday, April 7, 2017. The VIS sheets explain why people should get these vaccines, who should delay getting them, and who should not get them at all.

If you have any questions about this school immunization clinic, or other vaccinations, please contact Cindy at 920-388-7160.
