LUXEMBURG, Wis. – The 2019 class of Luxemburg-Casco High School, comprised of 143 students, will receive their diplomas May 29 at 6:30 p.m. during a commencement ceremony in the school’s gymnasium.

Carli Kollross, daughter of Scott and Cami Kollross of Luxemburg, is the valedictorian of the Class of 2019. Alexa Geniesse, daughter of Bob and Lori Geniesse of New Franken, is the salutatorian. Geniesse will provide the ceremony’s Welcome message, while Kollross will offer the Farewell address.

Amanda Miceli, 2019 L-C Class President, will deliver a Class Review speech. The motto of the 2019 class is, “Aspire to inspire before we expire,” a published quote from author Eugene Bell, Jr.

Following an address by District Administrator Glenn Schlender and presentation of the Class of 2019 by Principal Troy Haws, the L-C Board of Education will award diplomas to this year’s graduates.

“There always is sadness in seeing our graduates leave, many of whom have been with us for the entirety of their academic careers,” says Haws, “but also excitement in what is ahead for them. Thanks to the outstanding work of our teachers and staff, we know they are prepared for success in their respective paths. Good luck to everyone in the years ahead, and know that they always will be Spartans!”

Forty-six percent (66 students) of this year’s graduating class plan to continue their education at a four-year post-secondary institution. Fifty-seven of those students will remain in the state for their college experience, including 45 at University of Wisconsin System universities. UW-Green Bay is the top choice among 2019 L-C graduates with 17 choosing the school.

Thirty-four percent (48 students) of the L-C Class of 2019 will be furthering their education at a state technical college. The majority of those students – 44 – have chosen to attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

Ten 2019 students plan to enter the workforce upon graduation, while two have elected military service.
