L-C Community Problem Solvers place 3rd internationally

The main area of focus was to certify L-C High School as a Green and Healthy School through the Wisconsin DNR. The students did indeed achieve "Sugar Maple" status (the highest possible status available and indicating they made positive and effective changes in all nine of the major focus areas) and did so in record time. This is the first school to ever have completed the certification in less than a year and to have been achieved mainly by students. They are also the first student group invited to present a project at the State DNR Green and Healthy Schools Convention in Steven's Point this summer. On top of these accomplishments they've spent at least 100 hours removing thousands of invasive plant species and replacing them with natives at Baird Creek and were recognized publicly for their work there by the Baird Creek Preservation Foundation this year.

They have accomplished so much more in just 10 short months and they all deserve a big congratulations! They have spread the word worldwide that we have only one Earth and it is ours to take care of right now.
