School receives Manufacturing Partnership Award in recognition of work with area businesses
LUXEMBURG, Wis. – Luxemburg-Casco High School was honored by the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance (NEWMA) with the Educator-Manufacturing Partnership Award at its eighth annual awards dinner, held Oct. 29 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay. The award was accepted by David Gordon, career and technical education coordinator for the district. Along with the award, the L-C district also receives $500 from the Alliance.
“This is very exciting news for our high school,” says Principal Troy Haws. “To receive recognition on this scale is pretty significant for our entire district. It establishes Luxemburg-Casco as one of the technical education leaders in Northeast Wisconsin.”
Luxemburg-Casco High School has placed a strong emphasis on technical education over the past two years, including increased hands-on coursework. Contained within L-C’s technical programming are nearly 50 partnerships with area businesses, most prominently D&S Machine Service of Luxemburg and Olson Fabrication of Algoma.
The NEW Manufacturing Alliance presents the awards each year to recognize exemplary methods throughout the region, saying, “The Alliance believes it is critically important for manufacturers to work with and support education. The Awards spotlight best practices throughout the New North region.”
NEWMA holds its annual Manufacturing First Expo & Conference the following day, attended by more than 1,500 people, including 500 high school students. The event is the culmination of Manufacturing Month (October) in the state of Wisconsin.

The Luxemburg-Casco School District serves nearly 2,000 Northeast Wisconsin students annually through four schools: the primary (4K-2) and intermediate (3-6) schools, both in Luxemburg; the middle school (7-8) in Casco; and the high school (9-12) in Luxemburg.
