Dear L-C High School Parents/Guardians and Students

You should have received the following important information via the school messenger system regarding weather related school closures:

March 13, 2019

Dear L-C Parents/Guardians and Staff,

Earlier this winter, you were informed the district did not need to make up instructional time as a result of weather related school delays and closures. Since then we’ve had additional weather related closures and, as a result, we will now need to add one full day of instruction. The purpose of this message is to inform you of our current plan for making up this lost time and for making up any additional lost time if needed.

This past Monday evening, the school board approved a plan brought forth by the administrative team for making up lost instruction time. There are two teacher in-service days coming up: Friday March 29, 2019 and Thursday April 18, 2019. In addition, the last day of school for students is Thursday June 6, 2019.

  • Thursday April 18, 2019 will now be a full day of school for students.

    • Friday March 29, 2019 will be the next day we use to makeup if needed. (In partnership with UWGB, we have a nationally renowned guest speaker scheduled to address our staff regarding mental health.)

    • Friday June 7, 2019 will be the next day we use to makeup if needed.

Collectively, we’re crossing our fingers hoping there will be no more lost instructional time.

Respectfully yours in education,

Luxemburg-Casco Administrative Team

The schedule for April 18, 2019 will be an 8 block day with abbreviated classes. In addition to this added instructional day, the high school students will still need to make up more time. The plan to accomplish this will be to convert the remaining early release dates to full days of school for all high school students. Students will now be dismissed at 3:00PM Wednesday, March 20th and Wednesday, April 17th. If you have any questions, please contact the high school office.

April 18, 2019 Schedule

    • The first skinny classes will follow the block 3 times and the second skinny classes will follow the block 7 times.

  • Block 6 study hall will be in the Library.

  • All students will report to block 6 at 11:00AM and staff will let them know if they have first lunch or second lunch. (30 minute lunch)

  • Students with late start or early release must plan on attending all classes. Make sure to communicate with employers any potential conflicts with their schedule that day. You will not be excused to leave if you are scheduled for a class at the end of the day.

Thank You,

Troy Haws

Luxemburg-Casco High School Principal
