Luxemburg-Casco School District ranks among Top 20 percent in state

District scores well across its four schools and multiple categories among Wisconsin schools

LUXEMBURG, Wis. – The Luxemburg-Casco School District is among the Top 20 percent of districts within Wisconsin, according to the 2020 Niche Best School Districts rankings. The L-C district came in 63rd amid 367 districts in the state, putting it inside the 18th percentile (17.2%). It also ranked 12th among the 38 CESA 7 school districts of Northeast Wisconsin.

The district was a top performer in Districts with the Best Teachers in Wisconsin, ranking 77th of 378 districts, standing within the 21st percentile (20.4%).

It also boasts a high ranking in the Best School Districts for Athletes in Wisconsin, coming in 39th of 367 districts measured, putting it within the top 11 percent (10.6%). Among the CESA 7 school districts of Northeast Wisconsin, Luxemburg-Casco had the fourth-best rating.

The district received an overall grade of A- from Niche and had similarly high grades in a number of areas, including Academics (A), Teachers (A), Health & Safety (A-), Sports (A), College Prep (B+), Food (B+), Administration (B), and Clubs & Activities (B).

Among the three school districts in Kewaunee County, Luxemburg-Casco was the top-rated district in four categories: Best School District, Districts with the Best Teachers, Best School Districts for Athletes, and Safest School Districts.“We believe that the Luxemburg-Casco School District is one of the highest-performing districts in our area, and the Niche rankings affirm that position,” says District Superintendent Glenn Schlender. “Much of the credit for the high scores of L-C goes to our teachers and educational staff, who also rated highly. We anticipate that the new facilities coming available through our referendum projects will provide an opportunity to score even higher in the future.”Luxemburg-Casco High School was aligned in the top third of high schools in the state, according to Niche, ranking 140th of 483 (29.0 percentile). The high school also scored highly in Best High Schools for Athletes (118 of 598, 19.7 percentile) and in Best High Schools for STEM (93 of 235, 39.6 percentile). L-C High School was lauded for its average graduation rate of 95 percent, receiving an overall grade of B+.

Luxemburg-Casco Middle School (Grades 7-8) received an overall grade of A- from Niche. In specific areas, its Teachers (A+) and Academics (A-) also scored highly.

Luxemburg-Casco Intermediate School (Grades 3-6) was given an overall grade of A by Niche. It was ranked as the Best Elementary School in Kewaunee County, with high ratings for its Teachers (A+) and Academics (A).

Luxemburg-Casco Primary School (4K-Grade 2) received a grade of A- for its Teachers and an overall grade of B. Its Academics were not graded.

Niche, used by more than 50 million people in the last year, produces comprehensive rankings of U.S. colleges, schools, neighborhoods and companies, utilizing up-to-date data available from dozens of public data sources including the Department of Education, U.S. Census and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It also analyzes more than 100 million reviews and survey responses.

The 2020 Niche Best School Districts ranking was based on analysis of key statistics, along with reviews from students and parents, using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district rankings, and more. Niche then produces rankings, report cards and profiles for every K-12 school in the country.
