Senior Accomplishments

The senior class of 2015 had quite the impact at Luxemburg-Casco High School. Here are a few noteworthy achievements by these outstanding Spartans.

  • Volleyball raised over $10,000 toward breast cancer research in their Pink Out week

  • Wrestler who placed as the state runner-up

  • Green Bay Press Gazette Academic Team member

  • 2nd place academic team competition - Social Studies

  • Coordinated blood drives collecting 148 pints (as many as 444 lives saved!)

  • ‘Critic’s Choice’ Award (the best you can get) at State One Act

  • Metro Math team Individual medals

  • Senior team for FPS got the highest scoring booklet in the history of LCHS

  • State Football Playoff Quarterfinalist

  • Individual was able to test out of taking Math classes at NWTC (HUGE for this student)

  • Concert Band Percussion Ensemble made it to State Solo and Ensemble

  • Concert Band received 1st ratings in Class A at WSMA Concert Band Festival

  • Several Concert Band members received 1st ratings at State Solo and Ensemble

  • Concert Band members performed in NYC during Music Department NYC tour

  • Several senior band members were selected and performed in Europe this past summer with Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music in Europe tour

  • Several senior band members were selected to and performed with the 2015 Bay Area Music Association Conference Honors Band in January

  • Brown County Home Builders Association Design Contest Finalist

  • 1st State appearance for Boys Soccer in School History

  • 142 Scholarships totaling nearly $650,000

  • Dance Team qualified for the WACPC State competition for 8 years in a row w/ the last 3 years taking 2 routines.

  • Sting Cancer Club started at LC, raising +$3000 in its 1st year.

  • 296 pairs of socks donated to Freedom House a Green Bay homeless shelter during Socktober Drive (October).

  • 5 seniors achieved Wisconsin State FFA Degree- Most in at least 20 years

  • Two time State Runner-up FFA Proficiency award recipient

  • Three Seniors qualify for State FFA Career Development Event Competition.

  • Seniors spearhead Leo’s Club Penny War which raised $3000 for care packages sent to areas troops overseas.

  • Over 20 Art pieces displayed in the Neville Public Museum for the Congressional Art Contest, we had the most participation of any school in the the district. Seniors taking top places at the Kewaunee County Art Show.

  • Two FBLA students qualified for State competition, and one of them made qualified for Nationals this summer in Chicago

  • Twenty-nine FBLA members went to New York City an experienced the city and toured the financial district

  • Seniors participated in Polar Plunge and MS Walk-raising over 1300$ as National Honor Society members

  • Senior NHS members participated in Shop with a Cop program with Officer Paula - giving underprivileged children a chance to celebrate the holidays with their families

  • Leo’s Club helped initiate Strides Walk for Diabetes awareness, raising over $900 and financing a scholarship to the Wisconsin Lions Club Diabetes Camp.

  • Leo’s Club raised $3000 for holiday troop care packages.

  • Leo’s Club and PAC hosted Crystal Bowersox in 3rd Annual Headliner Concert.

  • 3 Seniors competed in multiple areas and placed in regional and state SkillsUSA competitions.

  • 49 seniors have taken Advanced Placement exams with 16 of those taking more than 2 exams

  • 20 students participated in the State Forensics Competition at Madison with 5 gold medals awarded

  • Girls Cross Country Team won conference this year - that makes five times in the last six years!

Many who we thought may not make the four years not only did but outdid themselves and achieved much higher than we initially thought they would/could! Many of our students have given back to the teachers in many ways just as we have hopefully given them the abilities to succeed in the next phase of life.
