On May 3, a pre-selected group of 21 high school students from Algoma, Kewaunee, and Luxemburg-Casco School Districts participated in the Kewaunee County Youth Government Day. Representing Luxemburg-Casco were Lexi Dachelet, Courtney Boehm, Abigail Hanmann, Danae Srnka, Trey Alsteen, Jacob Zellner, and Olivia Theys.

This program is designed to teach students about the nine elected positions in Kewaunee County and help students understand the inner responsibilities of local government. Many of the nine elected officials provided insight on their roles within local government. Each student attending was elected to represent one of the nine elected officials.

Throughout the day, students participated in the following scheduled activities: students taking an oath of office, touring the Kewaunee County Administration Center, Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department, Kewaunee County Jail Museum, and Kewaunee County Courthouse, before participating in a mock trial.
