Post date: Oct 20, 2020 5:48:46 PM

Amidst the uncertainty of our COVID-dominated society, Luxemburg-Casco High School continues to focus on the development of our students and ensuring each and every one of them is college, career, and/or community ready.

Check out the fantastic events and activities that are upcoming for our students and families. Additional communication will occur on each of the following items, so watch for more updates. Any questions, please contact Jen Johnson at jejohnson@luxcasco.k12.wi.us or 920-309-0387.

Virtual Job Spotlights

During the month of November, we will be highlighting the vast array of opportunities available in health care and exploring the career cluster of Health Sciences. Students and parents will be invited to register to attend live virtual job shadows (these sessions will also be recorded for future use) featuring several businesses and careers in our area along the spectrum of health care. These spotlight sessions will be interactive and allow participants to see real professionals in actual jobs and provide an in-depth look at workforce realities, showcasing what people do in their occupations and the education and skills needed. We encourage you to participate to learn about different career options available to you.

Youth ApprenticeshipOur second year of the Ahnapee Youth Apprenticeship Consortium has had tremendous success. With seven high schools now under our umbrella, our ability to prepare students with the appropriate employability skills necessary to be college, career, and community ready has had a tremendous impact on our community. By partnering with employers and creating valuable work-based learning experiences, we are shaping the future of our workforce and developing a pipeline of young talent for all types of career opportunities. Students are eligible to participate in this program as juniors and/or seniors and earn high school and even college credit for their work-based learning placements. Informational parent and student meetings will be held in January for interested students. More information will be communicated in the upcoming weeks. Watch for details. With over 100 of our Luxemburg Casco students participating in this program, we hope to continue the rise in numbers and momentum of this valuable program for years to come.
