Public School Open Enrollment now available for 2023-24 academic year

Parents who live outside the Luxemburg-Casco School District boundaries and would like their student to Be A Spartan now can submit a Public School Open Enrollment application through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment.

 

Wisconsin’s inter-district Public School Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they live. Applications may be submitted to up to three non-resident school districts.

 

Luxemburg-Casco has become a “destination district” for many Northeast Wisconsin students and parents. Total student enrollment in the district has increased by more than 135 students over the past two years based on DPI enrollment figures of September 2022.

 

L-C has more students than it has had in at least the past three decades, this year topping the 2,000-student mark for the first time going back to the 1993-94 school year. Of its 2,001 total students, from 3K through Grade 12, nearly eight percent (7.67) of students – 261 – receive their education at L-C through Public School Open Enrollment.

The Luxemburg-Casco School District is proud to have academic achievement results among the best in Northeast Wisconsin. In the most recent District Report Cards of the Wisconsin DPI, our Student Achievement finished among the top seven percent of districts in the state. L-C students ranked second in Mathematics and fourth in English Language Arts (ELA) among the 38 school districts in the Cooperative Educational Service Agency for Northeast Wisconsin (CESA 7).

 

The 2021-22 DPI Report Cards also ranked the Luxemburg-Casco Intermediate School (Grades 3-6) No. 29 in Wisconsin among 2,626 school buildings in the state. L-C additionally was a Top 8 high school within the Green Bay metro area in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools Rankings.

 

A wide variety of student-led career-readiness and technical-education programs are available to assist in identification of a career path that matches student interests. The district also is committed to developing the whole child.

 

Luxemburg-Casco offers a single campus, providing parents with the ability to drop off and pick up students within a concentrated area. Housed within a short distance are the Primary School (4K-2), Intermediate School (3-6), Middle School (7-8) and High School (9-12). The Middle School is brand new, having opened in August 2020.

 

The district’s Gymnasium and dedicated Wrestling Room are among the best in the area. Luxemburg-Casco is known throughout Northeast Wisconsin, and beyond, for the consistent success of its athletic teams. The Spartans have won 25 total state championships in varsity sports, and 17 different options for participation on athletic teams are offered.

Open Enrollment is available for students in five-year-old kindergarten through Grade 12. For pre-kindergarten, four-year-old kindergarten and early-child education spots are limited.

 

The Open Enrollment application period for the 2023-24 school year runs from February 6, 2023, through 4:00 p.m. CT on April 28, 2023.
