Many moons ago, the territories were wild, lawless lands lush with life. Nearby cats saw an opportunity — a place so full of prey surely could be turned into a home, could it not? A paradise away from the blight of humanity. However, with no borders, the cats hunted as they pleased and fought over what little territory they had. As they fought amongst themselves, upon came a new threat. A place so lavish would not come so easily. They were not alone. In a struggle to survive, the cats began to unite, fearing they otherwise would perish against the beasts of the land. Curious of their determination for survival, four spirits watched on from beyond. Geo-soul, the spirit of the Earth, Gale-soul, the spirit of the winds, Aqua-soul, the spirit of the sea, and Flora-soul, the spirit of life, decided to bestow upon the persevering cats a gift, so that they may survive. The cats had formed into four groups, and each elemental spirit took one under their wing, so to say. Each group elected a leader to represent them; Tide, Cavern, Verdure, and Covey. Four unique cats that held strong values and great initiative. As long as the newly formed Clans followed a code of honor, they would reward them with the strength to survive, and granted Leaders four total lives so they could lead their Clans for moons to come. The spirits promised to watch over the Clans, and give their dead a place of eternal rest, known as StarClan. The four Leaders accepted, and thus began the start of the Clans. Coveystar took their Clan to live among the savanna, sprouting wings and sharp wits. Verdurestar took their Clan to live in the jungle, budding horns and gentle natures. Tidestar took his Clan to live along the shore, bearing fins and family bonds. Lastly, Cavernstar took to the caves, creating a Clan on hard work and ambition, growing crystals from their bones and fire in their hearts. The Clans were separate, but united under the four spirits. To remind them of this, the four Leaders decided that under every full moon, they would meet beneath the stars for a night of peace and prosperity. As long as they lived by the Guardian code, the four spirits and their fallen ancestors would watch over them and guide them through their lives.
(September, 1991) – The four Divines bless the four new leaders, Coveystar, Verdurestar, Tidestar, and Cavernstar, with powers beyond their wildest dreams. The Clans are formed, and this is where the story begins.
(September, 1992) – A fire engulfs most of CoveyClan territory and parts of VerdureClan and TideClan shores due to a very hot dry season. A timely rain puts it out, but not before claiming lives.
(August, 1998) – A minor plague sweeps through the Clans, killing a handful of cats, including CavernClan’s deputy, Geodecurl. It vanished as soon as it came.
(July, 2012) – Rainstar leads a battle against CoveyClan, successfully claiming the land south of the river connected to the Shimmering Sault.
(September, 2013) – Rainstar leads a battle against CavernClan, claiming the islands to the west of their territory.
(July, 2015) – Harveststar and Sunstar grow close, and begin a cross-training program for apprentices to train with both Clans.
(December, 2016) – A Feral Chacma terrorizes the Clans when it settles into CavernClan territory, killing cats of all Clans and even Wildstar of CavernClan. However, her death was not in vain, because it too managed to die from its wounds.
(Augst, 2020) – The cross-training program between CoveyClan and VerdureClan dies with Harveststar.
(October, 2021) – Four Apprentices accidentally open a wormhole at the gathering, letting in Dark Forest cats to haunt the territories. Most notably, Rainstar, Starlingstar, Shriekvalor, and Mousebelly.
(May, 2022) – Slugworm of CavernClan ends up in a deal gone wrong with Splitmuzzle, revealing the existence of a soul to the clans and the otherworldly beings' seeming ability to tamper with it.
(October 2022) – Splitmuzzle and Silverpelt clash, opening a rift in the sky and dropping a dragon-like creature onto the clans. In this clash, they set CoveyClan territory ablaze, causing their camp to burn to the ground.
(December 24th, 2022) - Wiltbreath Dragons land in droves in the Great Valley during their winter migrations, bringing sub-freezing temperatures and white rain flurrying down from the skies for a quarter-moon before they flee to warmer lands.
(April 2023 - CavernClan and VerdureClan go to war against one another after rising tensions, and whispers spread among the clans about their fighting and a great Dark Forest beast interrupting their fight, forcing the two Clans to unite.
(May 2023) - CavernClan and VerdureClan, banded together, go into battle against the beast terrorizing the both of them. Midway through the fight, a localized storm rips across the border, and prey, animals, and patrolling cats mysteriously drop dead before returning to life shortly thereafter. Whispers of a bright white figure emerging from the thunderstorm pass through the clans, believing some kind of Divine intervention has occured.
(December 10th-30th, 2023) - The Wiltbreath Dragons return, apparently passing overhead. However, their young decide to explore the Great Valley, bringing much stronger, colder, and snowier weather to the normally warm season of the year. Food runs scarce, plants wilt, and cats freeze beneath the great chill.
(June 2024) - A mysterious illness later named Soul Blight appears, found to be sourced from particular mushrooms.
(July 2024) - Soul Blight spreads into a plague that kills a significant amount of the population. Several items, including flowers called Dawnbreak Star flowers and items with magical properties, seem to delay symptom progression while infected. However, a real cure has not been found.
(August 2024) - Sphinxwisp, a CoveyClan Healer, infects the Moonpool island, which turned out to be a Forest-backed Dragon variety. Aqua-Soul, the Divine of Water, appears to cure him. While doing so, Aqua-Soul creates the Soul Spring: a spring that cures Soul Blight.
(November 2024) - A group of cat-like creatures that call themselves Voltaic approach CoveyClan territory. The group temporarily lives with CoveyClan as they share customs.
(December 2024) - The discovery of Overseers is made when the Voltaic group led them to the creature. It is learned that, due to the barrier that the Divines put, the Overseer cannot help them.
(January 2025) - The Clans wage war on the Divines and seek guidance from the Stars. The stars, Voltaic, and Clans band together to lure Gale-Soul and kill them. Geo-Soul, Aqua-Soul, and Flora-Soul, fearful of ending up like Gale-Soul, conform to the clan's wishes and grant them access to the Farlands and more power. Over three months, clancats begin to develop new features, and the mist over the Farlands is lifted. For the first time in clan history, cats are now able to venture out into the Farlands without losing their traits or fearing death. Unknowingly, Gale-Soul's death also releases Demons upon the lands.
(August 3rd, 2025) - CoveyClan and CavernClan begin a cross-training program!
(September, 1991) – Tidestar is given his powers by the divine spirit of the sea, and gets his leader name and lives. TideClan officially begins, and he names Gullwing, a spunky she-cat, his deputy.
(December, 1996) – Gullwing tragically dies at modern day Azure Deep due to a juvenile sea serpent. Tidestar names Pearltwine his new deputy.
(Janurary, 2001) – Tidestar is found dead in his den, having lost his final life in his sleep due to old age. He left Pearltwine, now Pearlstar, in his place.
(April, 2001) – Pearlstar begins xyr age of exploration despite Gullwing’s death, assembling a team of cats xe called Divers, to explore the ocean, discovering what is now known as Pearltwine reef, the Sandy Cenotes, and the Azure Deep, and expanding the territory to new and great depths.
(January, 2008) – Pearlstar’s body is found half-eaten in the water, leaving Rainfall, now Rainstar, in xyr place. He reluctantly names Brinepool, a stubborn and prickly she-cat, his deputy.
(July, 2008) – Rainstar accidentally kills Brinepool in a fit of grief, and does not name a new deputy. Thus begins a dark age for TideClan as Rainstar grows colder and maddened with grief, electrocuting all who oppose him to death. He grows aggressive, and petty squabbles between TideClan and the other Clans break out.
(October, 2012) – Rainstar leads a battle against CoveyClan, successfully claiming the land south of the river connected to the Shimmering Sault.
(November, 2013) – Rainstar leads a battle against CavernClan, claiming the islands to the west of their territory.
(January, 2015) – Rainstar is found in the territory dead by a patrol, the back of his neck slashed open with no evidence of who did the final blow. Tetrapetal, at only 36 moons old, steps up to become leader after Rainstar’s long-awaited passing. She names Whelkshell, a stoic and logical tom, as deputy.
(August, 2019) – Whelkshell simply seems to vanish, never to be seen again, and Tetrastar names Dragonshimmer as deputy in his stead.
(July, 2020) – Tetrastar takes her final breath, leaving Dragonshimmer, now Dragonstar, to lead in her stead. She names Wavecrash, an ambitious and clumsy tom, as deputy.

TideClan was originally a group of sea-dwelling cats, kept aboard a twoleg ship to keep the rats and mice at bay. Their Leader was a mellow tom by the name of Tide, who managed to keep his small group entertained while at sea for months. It was a good life. But alas, good things cannot last forever. The traveling Twolegs finally settled down for longer than Tide would have liked. Some of the ship cats settled down with them, staying near the new docks or going further inland to be barn cats. But the majority of them wanted to follow Tide, and he decided to leave the Twolegs to live his own life. And thus, after moons of travel, the sea cats found themselves at a small beach in the south of the territories, setting up shop and surviving on fish and seabirds. It was terribly hard, but it was their own. When the four spirits came to calm the lands, Tide accepted, hoping his group of cats could finally relax just like they used to on aboard the ship. The newly formed Clan prospered under Tide, now Tidestar.
Tidestar led his Clan much like a cool older brother takes care of his younger sibling. He made sure they were well taken care of, but that they had fun doing it. In a stressful world, he helped his Clan to cope. Tidestar was generally laid-back and tended to not to worry about things. He was funny, loyal, supportive, friendly, good-hearted, easygoing, and selfless, however a tad immature and irresponsible. He often cracked jokes at serious times, and suffered a lack of focus and attention pretty often. While he was beloved by most, some were rather put off by his immaturity. Despite everything, he lived a long life, and did good by his Clan. He died from old age, letting his Deputy Pearltwine lead in his stead. His Leader mark was a star upon his shoulder, showing his connection to the Divines
Policy on outsiders: The more the merrier! He wouldn't ask anybody but he would announce it beforehand and expect everybody to be very welcoming.
Policy on outsiders: Accepted outsiders, though enforced a mentorship program. If others joined at an age above guardianship she would have them change their name and retake the "paw" suffix until they graduated as a Tideclanner.
After Tidestar’s death, his Deputy Pearltwine slid into the Leadership role easily, beginning a golden age for TideClan exploration. Due to Tidestar’s relaxed approach to Leadership, Pearlstar was the one who began exploring the reefs and drop offs so commonly found in TideClan territory, putting into action many of the Clan’s traditions. While Tidestar was a relaxed older brother type, Pearlstar was the calm and confident maternal figure, leading xyr Clan with a proud chest. Pearlstar was kind and brave, sometimes aloof and apprehensive- but xyr Deputy Ripplerush balanced xyr big ideas with rational thinking. Pearlstar died tragically in the Sandy Cenotes after xyr gills failed on xem, causing xyr body to be found in the basin half eaten by fish. Xyr Leader mark was a large star over xyr face, symbolizing the trailblazing effects xe had on TideClan.
Ripplestar was TideClan’s third leader, taking over after Pearlstar was found dead. Xeir death devastated him, and he often struggled to win the appeal of his Clanmates shortly after. He became distrustful of the stars, barely listening to consults with the Healers and viewing any possible omen with scorn. As a Diver, Ripplewisp was quite and reclusive, feeling more free in the water than he did on land. He never really spoke to cats, keeping to himself and burying himself in his duties. When he became Leader, he appointed a kind, fun-loving tom named Brinebelly, who helped ease Ripplestar’s anxiety about tough decisions for the betterment of TideClan. He slowly grew more confident in his role as Leader until Brinebelly was found dead along the coast-line by Ripplestar. He collapsed in a fit of grief on top of the cold tom, just to be found by a patrol later. Whispers spread, rumors about how close the two toms were just for Brinebelly to be killed by Ripplestar, for what reason? Most did not know, but Splashfur, the newly appointed Deputy, fanned the flames with help of various cats who supported her. No killer was ever identified, and Ripplestar unofficially carried the blame for Brinebelly’s death.
In order to gain TideClan’s favor, and with nudging from Splashfur, Ripplestar led an attack on CoveyClan in order to claim their strip of land bordering the Shimmering Sault. The battle was heated and bloody, resulting in both Ripplestar and Mandalastar tearing a life from each other and falling dead tail lengths apart. However, due to his disconnect to The Garden of Stars, no one was there to speak to Ripplestar, so he remained in darkness as his wounds healed, awaking before Mandalastar did. He pinned down Mandalastar’s body, using it as leverage to make CoveyClan back off until she awoke. Once she did, Ripplestar forced her to call a retreat and won new land for TideClanners to hunt and grow herbs on. The damage of such an impulsive choice remained however, Ripplestar lost his ability to breathe through his gills due to Mandalastar’s talons shredding them, meaning he had to rely on holding his breath like his Clanmates underwater. This led to two sea-related deaths that stripped him of his lives within a short period of time. Ripplestar’s final life was lost when Splashfur and her accomplices found him alone and attacked him, dragging Ripplestar out into the shallows and drowning him. Splashfur wound later exclaim an aggressive juvenile tidecrasher dragged Ripplestar beneath the waves and he had ordered them to stay in the shallows, but never resurfaced. His Leader mark was the star-like marking on his flank, cut in half to symbolize his disconnect and distrust of StarClan.
After he died, things simply got worse. Locked out of The Garden of Stars, Ripplestar’s soul wandered into the Place Beyond the Veil, confused and utterly afraid. He wandered the plane in silence until he was given an opportunity to return to the living world through Splitmuzzle, the first Forest-damned cat. Desperate, Ripplestar agreed, but was tricked, transformed into a horrible monster as he rejoined the world of the living. Instead of causing terror, he used the opportunity to tell his story. To clear his name on all the deaths and wrongdoings TideClan knew him for. TideClan ultimately allowed him to stay in camp and even gave him his old name of Ripplewisp. His demonic form finally fell, solidifying in TideClan’s eyes that The Garden of Stars approved. Ripplewisp stayed as an Elder for several moons before his years caught up to him and he died once again of old age. He was welcomed into The Garden of Stars, reunited with Pearlstar and Brinebelly.
Policy on outsiders: Accepted outsiders! He would ask the council for their thoughts and then cast a vote.
Policy on outsiders: Accepted outsiders! She would always meet with her council beforehand and if they all agreed it was okay and this cat was to be trusted, then she would announce this to the Clan and they would be allowed refuge.
Splashstar [WIP]
Sealstar [WIP]
Policy on outsiders: She often accepted outsiders without consulting anybody and blindly trusted everybody who wanted in.
After Tetrastar drew her last breath from old age, Dragonstar, then Dragonshimmer, stepped up in her place, since she was her Deputy. She vowed to continue her legacy of peace and prosperity, and she led with pride to make sure the dark times never fell on her Clan again. She was a respectable Leader who took pity on HalfClan cats and gave them a home in her Clan, and dealt fair punishments to those who broke the rules. She made an effort to befriend the other Leaders to ensure peace, and even for a short while, found herself in a romantic relationship with Balancestar. She’d largely followed Tetrapetal down to a T, but her ego was much larger than her predecessor. She wasn’t very humble, despite her strive for peace. She believed she could do no wrong, and it ultimately led to her downfall. Her falling out with Balancestar. She was too blind, too sure in her own reality that she couldn’t see past it or accept anything but. When she accepted Rainstar’s monstrous form into the Clan, she couldn’t see how her Clan resented her for it. She believed her decision was so just that she attacked Balancestar at the Gathering when she got upset over them harboring the monster that was Rainstar. Eventually, during a solo patrol, she was killed by a Tidecrasher nesting along their shores, leaving Lucentpearl in her stead.
For a brief moment after Dragonstar’s passing, Lucentstar became Leader. But overall.. She never wanted to become Leader. She had never even wanted to become a Deputy. She was a kind cat who loved her Clan deeply, but she was clearly in over her head. She quickly stepped down, Elegentcharge replacing her since she was her Deputy. Her leader mark was little stars in her freckles!
Lucentpearl later passed from complications during kitting.
Policy on outsiders: For the short time she lead, she would never judge a cat by its pelt and did accept outsiders, but did evaluate the risks for the safety of her clan first.
Policy on outsiders: She typically accepted outsiders after speaking with counsel members as long as they didn’t have any sort of criminal background.
Elegantstar stepped up as Leader after Lucentpearl stepped down, leading TideClan with a kind heart and gentle but firm nature. She chose her first deputy to be Lionbloom, leading the clan for many moons as a strong, unwavering leader. Eventually, as the moons ticked by, and Elegantstar grew older, she stepped down from her position as leader to spend the rest of her moons as an Elder at the side of her sickly mate, Nightwatcher. She left the clan in the paws of Lionbloom. Her leader mark was a star-shaped eyelash on the left side of her face.
Lionbloom became leader after Elegantstar, taking on the name of Bloomingstar and pushing TideClan towards an era of peace. With a gentle soul and anxious personality, Bloomingstar's leadership has been one of peace, leading with Specklewrasse as his deputy. While rocky, starting with the disappearance's of Lagoonwisp's family, Bloomingstar has proven himself to be a strong, trustworthy, and smart leader with just punishments in spite of his gentle soul. After losing two lives to a predator attack, he stepped down from Leadership. His leader mark was an upside-down star shape in his mane.
After the veil fell, he and his mate Pyritepatter left to explore the Farlands.
Policy on outsiders: Unless they have committed heinous crimes, he allows them a one-month trial period and if anyone has any issues/they do anything off he casts them out. He generally would hold a vote as well, to gauge everyone's individual thoughts and opinions.
Policy on outsiders: Typically only accepts outsiders who are running from bad situations and have no criminal background. He may make exceptions for cats or friends of cats that he has a personal bias towards, as long as his Council agrees.
Specklewrasse stepped up after Lionbloom, taking on the name Specklestar. His Leadership began soon after the Soul Blight, a time that left TideClan picking up the pieces. She set herself to heal any relationships between the other Leaders that had been damaged during that time, and lead with a steady head. Recently, though, she has slowly revealed themself to be a biased Leader. His Leader marks are two star shaped patterns on his thigh.

(October, 2013) – Rainstar leads a battle against CavernClan, claiming the islands to the west of their territory. It isn’t much of a fight, as Wildstar mostly just lets them have it. Not like CavernClan cats can swim anyway.
(August, 2014) – Wildstar discovers the beautiful Quartz Underpass on a patrol, a cave with one of the only underwater fishing ponds.
(October, 2014) – While on a patrol, an apprentice named Lightpaw slips and dies in the Quartz Underpass, resulting in Wildstar banning young inexperienced apprentices from going.
(January, 2017) – Wildstar died tragically young in a massacre of her and her patrol when fighting a wild feral chacma on the surface. Wasptail, now Waspstar, rose to power. Waspstar instates a total cutoff from the surface, forbidding access to anyone except specific cats with granted clearance. CavernClan no longer attends gatherings during this time. A series of disappearances within the Clan occur.
(September, 2019) – It is revealed that Waspstar was behind the disappearances. Duskface, Waspstar’s deputy, ends her tyranny by leading a rebellion and overthrowing her, becoming Duskstar in her stead. CavernClan is once again able to freely roam the surface and re-attend gatherings.

(May 2023) - CavernClan and VerdureClan go to war against one another- however, their fighting is interrupted by Virtueblossom, who, in a panic, begins to harm and kill cats of both clans. Her divine form grows distorted, only becoming more monstrous as Howlermoon interrupts the fight, reinfecting her with rot and decay upon his demise. CavernClan and VerdureClan are forced to band together and flee, seeking refuge from Virtueblossom in CavernClan camp.
(May 2023) - After a brief recoup, a plan is formed to kill Virtueblossom for good and return the displaced VerdureClanners to their homes. Using Dawnsprig's amulet as bait, they attack and attempt to bring Virtueblossom down. After Dawnsprig's amulet broke, overrun with grief, Virtueblossom used all her divine magic to steal the souls of every living creature in the near vicinity- intending to use their powers to rip open a hole into the Divine's realm and slay them so that she may create a world devoid of suffering. However, Flora-Soul, the divine of VerdureClan, stepped down from the skies, electing Venomstar as champion and rising him from the dead with a new, bull-like form. Upon killing Virtueblossom, all the souls she harbored returned to the dead, but not without a price. Half of the lives she had claimed did not return, used up as energy to return the others to their bodies.

It is decided to not exile Doublesun due to the circumstances.
(August 3rd, 2025) - CoveyClan and CavernClan begin a cross-training program!
A Clan built on the legacy of an isolated group of cats living in the rocky wastes of ancient CavernClan territory. As the only Clan of the four created by cats with little to no ties to human contact, CavernClan is known for its fierce inner loyalty and general distrust of outsiders. Their ancient ancestors were forced underground by harsh weather conditions on the barren mountain sides and attacks from beasts wandering in from the Northern farlands. Their ranks were led by the first Leader, Cavern, who is best known for his bravery and quick thinking when protecting his Clanmates from a rogue dragon attack. He taught his ranks to dig into the ground for shelter and navigate the winding tunnels below the surface for quick and safe travel to and from. From his Leadership grew a legacy of cats fiercely devoted to perseverance, loyalty, and belief in a single goal: the good of the Clan. When the four Divines came to calm the lands, they took great note of Cavern’s bravery and wisdom in the face of danger. He would be the first of many to lead for generations.
His gemstone was Ametrine, and his leader mark was the large crest upon his head!
Policy on outsiders: Very strictly no outsiders. He believed that cats were born into their clans for a reason.
Policy on outsiders: More lax on outsiders, provided the reason for their joining wasn't related to exile from another clan or running from your past.
Spiritstar, born Spiritflight, was born completely blind. Abnormally tall and pale for a CavernClan cat, they often stuck out among the other Apprentices and Guardians. They rarely spoke and drifted through the tunnels like a spirit, living up to their namesake. With the disability of not having sight in the dark like their Clanmates, they grew to rely heavily on their antennae and paws for subtle vibrations in the ground and through the air. Their abilities in this regard were much more sensitive than that of their Clanmates, which aided greatly in avoiding countless cave-in accidents and other disasters. For their bravery and overall service to the Clan, they were appointed Deputy under Cavernstar and served as a kind and vigilant Clan guide for many moons to come.
Their gemstone was Moonstone, and their leader mark was the grown of gems atop their head!
Previously known as Wildgaze, this spunky Apprentice was trained under Spiritstar’s patient wing as a miner. Through moons of careful teaching and mindful exercises, Wildgaze quickly rose through the ranks to become a miner captain. Spiritstar’s guidance made her a valuable asset to any tunneling mission. Though small, her fiery personality made her an incredibly strong Leader with a courageous heart. Never one to shy away from a fight and incredibly competitive, it's no wonder her four lives were stripped from her so quickly. On her last life, her stubbornness got the best of her and led to the massacre of her and her patrol at the hands of a feral chacma. Despite their best efforts, Spiritstar’s attempts to quell her fierce spirit were in vain, and she died tragically young for a Leader.
Her gemstone was Malachite, and her leader mark was the star gem upon her cheek.
Policy on outsiders: Wildstar was incredibly welcoming, perhaps detrimentally so. No matter the reason, she believed in second chances!
Policy on outsiders: Absolutely not! Waspstar, riding off of the reign of Wildstar, used the previous leader's policy as a sort of warning propaganda about outsiders and effectively shut off Cavernclan from the surface world. Nobody joins, nobody leaves.
In the aftermath of Wildstar’s death, Waspstar rose to take her place as Leader of CavernClan. Through many moons of rising through the ranks, Wasptail found herself as Deputy under the easily manipulated Wildstar. With Wildstar’s passing, a series of mysterious disappearances happened within CavernClan. Many cats who visited the surface seemed to go missing, which resulted in Waspstar forbidding all CavernClan cats from leaving the safety of the underground. This meant many kits born during Waspstar’s reign never experienced daylight for many moons, and CavernClan was not able to attend gatherings. Behind the scenes, Waspstar was the one behind the disappearances, sacrificing cats who disobeyed her to a tunnel king for the purpose of “protecting the Clan from attacks.” Corrupted and power hungry, the Leader’s scheme was eventually found out. She herself was fed to the tunnel king in a rebellion headed by Duskface, her Deputy and ex-accomplice.
Her gemstone was Peridot, and her leader mark was the star gemstone upon her cheek and the strip of a crest upon her forehead.
As a miner, Duskface was very easily manipulated. Determined to succeed and eager to please, he eventually made a perfect candidate for Deputy under Waspstar. When Waspstar approached Duskface to ask him to help her carry out her sacrifices, he reluctantly agreed, wanting to obey his Leader’s word. Eventually the guilt of the sacrifices weighed on him, and he confessed his sins to his captains. With the help of the Clan, he plotted to overthrow Waspstar and end her reign of paranoia that swept the Clan. This was many moons ago, but the Clan’s opinion on Duskstar remains divided. In the wake of everything that’s happened, Duskstar tries his hardest to prove his loyalty to the Clan and his Clanmates. He cares deeply for them, but the sins of the past keep him from getting too close. Under Duskstar, CavernClan has once again begun to travel to the surface and attend gatherings freely. After the great battle with Cindermaw, CavernClan’s original camp became destroyed and unstable. Duskstar’s healer, Brazenspine, received a prophecy of CavernClan’s new home, and after a long period of searching, it was discovered. After CavernClan’s new camp was reached, Duskstar stepped down, and Cherrystar rose in his place.
His gemstone is Bloodstone, and his leader mark was the red star on his crest!
Policy on outsiders: Allowed outsiders seeking refuge from troubled families or difficult lives (provided they were not exiled for heinous crimes) with council guidance. They must completely denounce their old way of life and join as a full member of Cavernclan. No other allegiances.
Policy on outsiders: Pretty lenient on outsiders joining as long as her council is in agreement with their arrival.
Cherrystar rose to power after a brief period as Duskstar's deputy, when the old leader's age had proved to make leadership too difficult. Although young, Cherrystar was tough, hard-working, and resilient. Under her leadership, CavernClan reformed, growing in numbers, strength, and respect. She assisted in spearheading the war against VerdureClan after a series of border fights, resulting in the near-death of VerdureClan's Bloodhound, the attempted assassination of her deputy, Mothflutter, and failed attempts at peace negotiations. The war was interrupted by a great beast known as Virtueblossom, who grew corrupted and began to rampage against both CavernClan and VerdureClan. Forced to ally together, the two clans worked to fight and slay the beast, but not without mass casualities between both sides.
Although respected, Cherrystar's naming choices and forgetfulness landed her in the position of one of CavernClan's more controversial leaders. After memory problems left her offloading many duties onto Mothflutter and her Council, and an attack that claimed one of her lives, Cherrystar stepped down to become a caretaker.
Her gemstone is Opal, and her leader mark was a star upon her shoulder.
Mothflutter rose to the position of Leader after Cherrystar's abrupt attack, known by her clan as a workaholic and often abraisive leader. She leads with her Guardian name, reserving the -star for formal settings and inter-clan meetings, instead. Despite her position of Leader, Mothstar still acts as a Guardian, joining in on patrols and spending most of her time out of her den. However, after the loss of a majority of her litter, Mothstar has become much more aggressive and cold, taking little back-talk and dismissing any that get on her nerves.
Word has it that she's grown paranoid. Mothstar is much more reserved, occasionally leaving gatherings to her deputy Juniperbite.
Mothstar's gemstone is Yellow Citrine, and her leader mark is a white star on her shoulder.
Policy on outsiders: Circumstantial, but generally a no-outsider policy.
Policy on outsiders: Juniperstar follows in Mothstar's pawsteps and enforces a primarily 'no-outsider' policy, but will allow outsiders in under specific circumstances: if a traitless kitten is found abandoned, a cat is fleeing from an abusive situation, or if a Cavernblooded cat needs to join to prevent medical issues. Outsiders are vetted and must complete a trial period.
Juniperbite rose to power after Mothstar fell ill with Soul Blight, resulting in a fight that caused her to lose the last two of her extra lives. Mothstar entered a comatose-like state for several days and, after being advised by Healers, Juniperbite went to the Moonpools to retrieve her lives. Some rumors emerged that Juniperbite purposefully dethroned Mothstar and took power for herself after being unhappy with her choices as a leader.
Juniperstar is known as a tough and hardworking leader who is well-respected throughout her clan. She is fixated on ensuring that she maintains the appearance of being a strong and unmovable force- both for herself and for her clan. As she grew more comfortable in her leadership, she began to allow more of her softer and more maternal sides to show to her clanmates, eventually starting a family of her own. Despite her hardass attitude, Juniperstar focuses on rehabilitation and growth opposed to strict punishment when working with unruly cats. She has worked with Mediators to create an intervention program for cats that display overly aggressive or maladaptive behaviors in hopes of reducing conflict.
Juniperstar's gemstone is labradorite and her leadermark is a star on her crest/tiara.

Her divine form grows distorted, only becoming more monstrous as Howlermoon interrupts the fight, reinfecting her with rot and decay upon his demise. CavernClan and VerdureClan are forced to band together and flee, seeking refuge from Virtueblossom in CavernClan camp.
(May 2023) - Virtueblossom destroys VerdureClan's camp while searching for Dawnsprig, infecting the land with disease and wilting the leaves and plants, never to live again.
(May 2023) - After the battle ended, Venomstar and Roseglade brought Virtueblossom's corpse to the clearing she used to reside in, burying her there. With the lingering Divine energy her vessel still harbored, a grand, gnarled tree sprouted from the ground, pushing the canopy aside to allow sunlight in. The gnarled roots and branches of her creation provided VerdureClan with one final parting gift- a new home. The old camp is converted into a rehabilitation center for code breakers and troubled cats.

(January 2nd, 2026) - Venomstar dissolves the role of Senior Guardian, wanting all cats to have a voice in his Council with less distinction.
The roots of the Clans lie within the paws of VerdureClan’s ancestors. A group of jungle cats, sheltering within the gorge for protection in a delicate peace. These cats lay down the foundation of VerdureClan’s morals: community and safety. When Covey’s group of cats settled within the savannah, Verdure- a kind and curious cat- met Cilvia, a protector of the jungle cats. Verdure and Cilvia became enamored with both each other and the culture of their clowders. Verdure soon left Covey’s group to join these jungle cats, stepping up as a Leader for them once the spirits called upon them, and teaching their newfound family just as they taught them.
Newly named Verdurestar led their Clan alongside Cilvia- now their mate- and she acted as an unofficial deputy as the Clan settled into their new role as a part of a larger whole. Verdurestar was kind and a teacher with endless patience for the Guardians and apprentices they had the privilege of teaching. Acting as a mentor to younger cats, the newly appointed code was adopted quickly by the Clan, eager for knowledge and community. Verdurestar was known as a master mentor, giving advice that has been repeated down to the apprentices of the present day. They lived a long and kind life, and passed peacefully with their mate in their sleep. Their Leader mark was a white star that adorned their flank above their missing leg- and their antlers that sprouted wide above their head- often covered in small birds in memory of their CoveyClan origins.
Policy on outsiders: Because early VerdureClan was an amalgamation of random cats, both those jungle and any other cat who joined them, all were welcome.
Policy on outsiders: Same rules of her parent, Verdurestar!
Verdurestar and Cilvia had but one daughter, Lambnose, who assumed the role of Leader after her parents' passage. Lambstar, alongside the first official deputy- and her best friend- Raycurl, lead the Clan into uncertain and curious times- but Lambstar was known for her adaptability and optimism, and continued to build the community of VerdureClan- and the greater whole of Clans, in their parent’s memory.
But this kindness came at a price, and she was careless with her lives. Lambstar had a very short reign, as she lost her lives in attempts to help the other Clans- losing her last life in an accident in the forest. Her Leader horns are curled above her head in a protective manner, symbolizing her loyalty to the spirits and the Clans as a whole.
Raystar shakily took Leadership after Lambstar’s death and led in her place in a state of endless grief. Raystar was wracked with depression over Lambstar, and he stopped his Clan from partaking in any of the activities they would normally do- gatherings and border patrols came to a halt, and Kits went moons over their deadline for their Apprenticeship. The stars became angry with Raystar for not taking care of his Clan as he should, and cursed his horns to pierce his eyes- blinding him. This sign from the stars finally got through Raystar’s fog, and he stepped down to retreat to the Elders' den in hopes that his mental health would improve. It did not, and on night Raystar mysteriously disappeared from camp without a trace. Some cats say they can hear someone calling out for Lambstar, fumbling through the underbrush at night.
Raystar’s Leader mark was a star on his flank, ripped through by scars. His Leader horns curl around and plunge into his eyes.
Policy on outsiders: Due to his turbulent leadership, Raystar was less lenient on outsiders.
Lightkit's birth was most mysterious to the clan, but many assumed she was the daughter of Lambstar and Raycurl- but because she was so young when Lambstar died, she could not take leadership in her mother's pawsteps as before like Verdurestar and Lambstar. Instead, Raystar stepped up and Lightpaw was raised by the queens of the clan. Lightpaw had met Fidgetpaw shortly into her apprenticeship. Fidgetpaw was lighthearted and a sharp thinker- contrary to Lightpaw's more slow, thoughtful mind. The two worked wonders together and passed their assessments with flying colors; earning the names Lightbright and Fidgetfern. The two mollies were inseparable; working hard and trying to sustain the clan while Raystar spiraled. Many of the clancats looked to Lightbright for answers, being the leader's daughter- but she had none.
It wasn't until Raystar went blind that Fidgetfern convinced Raystar to step down, and for Lightbright to become the next leader. But Lightbright was nervous- she wasn't leader material. She was just... Herself! But Fidgetfern had always saw past that. "I'll help you-" Fidgetfern had promised. The two cats ventured to the moonpools and asked the Divines to split the gifted lives evenly between themselves so that they may lead together. They emerged from the pools as Lightstar and Fidgetstar- ruling Verdureclan together. It was unclear if the stars had given Fidgetstar lives at all- but it matters not. Fidgetstar and Lightstar led long and happy lives leading the clan together- even surrogating their own litter. The end came easily to Fidgetstar and Lightstar- when the two had willed the leader's flower to Harvestmoon before passing peacefully in the elders den together. Harveststar- not having a mate nor kits, then began a co-leadership and cemented the leader/deputy system now observed in Verdureclan.
Policy on outsiders: They were both accepting of outsiders. New members would join under a dual mentorship program and keep their guardian names (if they were guardians), however, they needed to earn their amulets.
Harvestberry took over after Fidgetstar and Lightstar stepped down, becoming Harveststar and beginning a peaceful reign of compassion and companionship. The Leader became known for his jolly nature and offbeat wisdom- as well as his connection to CoveyClan and their Leader, Sunstar. The two Leaders became close, and by proxy the Clans also became closer, even training apprentices together in a few instances. This peace was long lived until Harveststar’s untimely death. No cat knows how the Leader died, no cat but Balancepurr, Harveststar’s deputy and adoptive son. Harvestar’s Leader mark is made of a small white star on his forehead, symbolizing a small pride and closeness with the stars. His Leader horns are those of a cow, wide and scarred from battle.
Policy on outsiders: Harvest prided himself on personally training all immigrant cats- this is why he is known as such a wise teacher. All ages, and sometimes multiple at once, Harvest would accept anyone looking for a home and train them under his wing. They also had to earn their amulets.
Policy on outsiders: Balancestar followed Harvest and had cats take mentorships, usually dual- one native VerdureClan and one older immigrant to teach the newcomer both how a VerdureClan lives, and how to live while NOT being VerdureBorn.
Balancepurr had been Harveststar’s apprentice and child in many ways- that it was only inevitable for her to become deputy after the previous deputy, Sneezetrot, stepped down. Balancestar lead with kindness, if not with caution as well. Known as an anxious and lofty Leader, but also one with empathy and kindness in every sense of the word- Balancestar worked hard to assure her Clan thrived, no matter how dreamy they are at times. However, as time, depression, and burnout wore on Balancestar, and the information about her former relationship resulting in a HalfClan litter became wide-spread, Balancestar eventually stepped down, her leadership sunsetting after many moons of service. She left her clan in the paws of herdeputy, Venomstag. Her Leader mark is was star on their forehead to match Harveststar’s, and her horns were that of a ram’s that curl protectively around their head.
Venomstag stepped into leadership during a tumultous time, taking the reigns of a Clan that had been without effective leadership for many, many moons. With a strong head, Venomstar charged into the throes of leadership despite the disgruntled and spiteful nature many VerdureClanners had towards his decisions and policies, and as the Clan readjusted to having active leadership once again.
Venomstar lead the Clan through the warring with CavernClan after a series of border scuffles and the kidnapping of his Healer Shadowbird bled over into an attack on CavernClan's deputy. The war was interrupted by a great beast known as Virtueblossom that VerdureClan had been harboring, who grew corrupted and began to rampage against both CavernClan and VerdureClan. Forced to ally together, the two clans worked to fight and slay the beast, but not without mass casualities between both sides.
During this fight, Venomstar became the one and only leader to currently be blessed with a Divine Form from the gods. The Clans know and respect Venomstar, and he is currently the longest-standing leader of all four Clans.
Policy on outsiders: Greatly varies case by case, but is generally very open to outsiders!

From beneath the vines emerges a large Demon, who engages with both patrols. Chinchillawillow of VerdureClan dies, and Caterpillarpaw goes missing.
Policy on outsiders: Never. To Coveystar, the separate Clans existed for a reason, and to change them was laughable. Any cat discovered to have a romantic relationship with an outsider was punished, and any that had kits with them was exiled and barred from ever returning.
CoveyClan was originally a small group of outsiders who escaped an ever-growing Twoleg village way, way to the north, led by Covey, a cat with natural Leadership skills and a level head. They led the group with a code of honor and grace and so when they ran into the more.. barbarous groups of cats beyond the savanna, they were more or less disgusted. But alas, through mutual enemies, the prideful cats learned to tolerate the others and work together to survive. When the four spirits came to calm the lands, the transition from their own code of honor to the Guardian code was not hard, and the newly formed Clan prospered under Coveystar.
Covey, now Coveystar, led the newly formed Clan with dignity, treating the Clan as their own large family. They were calm, practical, and a voice of reason to the nonsense of the world. Despite their motherly nature, they had no problem putting others in their place when they acted out of line, not tolerating any sort of nonsense or petty quarrels between their Guardians. They were known as a fair ruler with a strong sense of justice that was to be admired. They lived a long life, dying due to complications of old age.
Leopardstar was CoveyClan’s second leader, taking control of the clan after her mother, Coveystar, passed from old age. Leopardstar was known as a powerhouse on the battlefield and within hunts, wearing her Guardian name of Leopardtalon proudly until being promoted to Deputy. As a Guardian, Leopardtalon often stuck to the ground, having small wings that made it hard to be speedy in the air. Even after getting her lives and Leader traits, she only flew when absolutely necessary. During her time, CoveyClan was prideful and swift, carving the savanna to the Clan’s needs and customs. She also made it mandatory for apprentices to learn how to navigate the savanna on paw, making the Kopje a primary training ground to practice climbing. CoveyClan hardly lost any battle with Leopardstar on the ground, powering through enemy lines with brute force and gnashing teeth. Cats who faced her often limped away with debilitating injuries and scars on their pelts. Some think her choice to fight on the ground was from her pridefulness, being willing to limit herself in the heat of battle while facing the enemy. Over time she grew close to a tom by the name of Ferretbreze, and together they had a litter of kits. Leopardstar chose Phoenixkit to be her successor.
Over time she lost two of her lives during battles against TideClan and VerdureClan, and one to sickness as well. Her final life was lost many moons later to a rogue lion found wandering too deep into CoveyClan territory, as she was leading a patrol to chase it out. Leopardstar shoved her deputy and daughter Phoenixcrown out of harms way, blinded by emotion the Leader hardly expressed to her heir. With injuries too great and the Healer’s den so far away, Leopardstar succumbed to blood loss and shock, soon joining the ranks of The Garden. Her leader mark was the teeth-like markings on her chest, symbolizing her ruthlessness in battle and cut-throat mentality.
Policy on 0utsiders: Absolutely not. Leopardstar, similar to Coveystar, rejected the idea of non-Covey blooded cats joining her Clan. She found it ridiculous for a cat to change Clans to be in an environment their body is unfit for. If any Coveyclanner had kits with an outsider, they were promptly exiled and could never rejoin the Clan.
Never accepted outsiders! They would exile any cats in relationships with outsiders as well. If a cat left the Clan for any reason, they would never be allowed to return.

As Phoenixstar never had any children, Mandalablaze was the next eligible (and willing) cat in line. Mandalastar was an esteemed Aviator Captain before she became Deputy and kept a love of her work throughout the rest of her life, turning to the Aviation team rather than Senior Guardians for council. Throughout most of her reign, she was well respected, caring deeply for her Clanmates and focusing on the development of Apprentices and their training. Her focus on this development was in part due to the three litters she had with her mate, Eyriethunder. She wished to ensure that there was no risk to the bloodline, and that any casualty would leave more cats to take their place.
While she was a rather cunning Leader in verbal disputes, she often let her anger take over in the heat of battle. As a result, during a great battle between TideClan and CoveyClan, Ripplestar and Mandalastar killed each other simultaneously. Ripplestar awoke first, pinning her down and forcing her to give up a stretch of CoveyClan territory in return for the rest of her lives. While she lost her land, she left Ripplestar with the loss of his first life and a permanent gill injury, leading to him dying twice more. In the shame of her defeat, the war was called off, and she focused her Clan's attention on improving strategies in battle by hunting big game. Much of CoveyClan's current day designs for traps and snares come from this era, with Mandalastar encouraging the creativity to host feasts for the Clan. Her Leadership was cut off early when Cuckoocackle, a cat unrelated to Coveystar's lineage, killed her to take her place. Her Leader mark was a star on her chest, symbolizing her love of the Clan.
Cuckoostar [WIP]
Policy on outsiders: Absolutely NOT allowed. He would allow cats pregnant with mixed magic babies to stay but would strip them of any rank they had and would be looked down upon.
Webstar, son of Cuckoostar and Coveyclan’s sixth leader, marked the end of Covey’s familial leadership succession. His reign entirely upturned the moons that predated him, a great effort having been put into rehabilitating the deep wound Cuckoostar had brought upon Coveyclan. Webstar had always been as prideful as the next Covey cat, as he loved his clan beyond even himself at times. As leader, he seemingly bloomed into a fresh personality, becoming outgoing and exceedingly positive to the degree he became rather personable toward his clanmates–which was in direct opposition to how he had been as a guardian, when he had to disguise himself as Cuckoostar’s perfect son.
However Webstar very blatantly had a sense of ethnocentrism, often discrediting other clans in order to uplift Covey, and after the constant stress of Cuckoostar, became incredibly skeptical. He was not entirely unkind to outsiders, but he was not the type to put effort into bonding with someone outside of Coveyclan either. His connection with Harveststar came as a great surprise, and later caused him to adjust his policy on mixed-magic cats born into Covey to be accepted, although still with punishment and quite the detriment on social currency.
Webstar appointed Raptorscar, once his apprentice, to take on leadership after he chose to step down. Although she was hot-headed, he believed she cared for the clan deeply, and could utilize her skills well as a leader.
Raptorstar was always a rather hotheaded deputy, so the Clan was more or less nervous when Sunstar, now Sunsong again, stepped down to let her become Leader. Raptorstar had a short temper, and was rather blunt, but she did care fiercely for her Clan. She took nothing from nobody, and didn't let many close to her due to trust issues stemming from an incident when she was an apprentice. She was an excellent fighter and a clever Leader, however reserved she was. If you can get her to loosen up, she’s actually pretty competitive, and she often challenges those she’s close to to games. She had a soft side for her friends and she cared a lot about her own self image, not wanting to be seen as soft. Because Sunstar and Harveststar took time to train their Apprentices together, she grew pretty close to the young Balancepaw, later Balancestar. She continued the peace between the two Clans even as she stepped up to be Leader, but didn’t offer the same training sessions between the Clans. However, Balancestar betrayed her trust by lying about her missing Apprentice, and the relationship between VerdureClan and CoveyClan became the worst it’d been in almost two generations. Only after the fire of CoveyClan, and the assistance provided by VerdureClan, did the two clans' rocky relationship mend. After a long crisis with her own mental health, and the disappearance of Morningkiss, Raptorstar's close friend and captain, Raptorstar stepped down, leaving Midnightflare to take her place. Her Leader mark was sharp lines under her eyes, representing her sharp and hotheaded personality like claws of a Guardian.
Policy on outsiders: Very against outsiders with only one special instance of an outsider being allowed in. Parents of mixed magic cats would be swiftly exiled, and the child had the choice to stay or follow. Once a cat left the clan, they were unable to return.
Midnightflare, taking the name Midnightstar, became the next Leader of CoveyClan. With a lax and playful personality, Midnightstar lead with her heart more than her mind. Most knew her as a loyal and playful CoveyClanner, a harsh contrast to Raptorstar, which made her a controversial choice. Some of the larger controversies during her Leadership was the exile of a cat that many deemed unfair, as well as being the first CoveyClan Leader to actively accept outsiders into the Clan. She stepped down after sustaining an injury, leaving Morningkiss in her place. Her leader mark was a large, orange sun marking spanning across the backs of her wings, symbolizing her warm and sunny personality.
Policy on outsiders: Outsiders were accepted after consulting the council to ensure they are safe to have in camp. Due to Midnightstar being the first leader in the clan to ever have accepted outsiders, many CoveyClan cats were naturally opposed to them. However, hoping to make the clan more open-minded, she typically disregarded grievances toward outsiders.
After Midnightstar stepped down, Morningkiss took up the name Morningstar, becoming CoveyClan's 7th Leader. She was a generally kind and passive Leader, but had a streak of taking things into her own paws when she deemed it necessary, such as when she executed Irefrenzy. Her Leadership was cut short after developing the Soul Blight, as she hid her illness from the Clan. She was later voted out due to being deemed untrustworthy. Her Leader mark was a blue star marking over her left eye.
Policy on outsiders:
Azurehowl, now Azurestar is one of Coveyclan’s current leaders. She was formerly Morningstar’s deputy until Morningstar was forced to step down. Azurestar is the first Coveyclan leader to accept the idea of a co-leadership between two cats, taking inspiration from VerdureClan. She was once a hotheaded molly with no interest in social interaction or Clan politics, singled out as a lone wolf. They have mellowed out considerably since then. Their Leader mark is a star-shaped diamond on their chest, resembling a blackhole.
Sharpshoot, now Sharpstar, is one of the current leaders of CoveyClan. While he hadn't been Deputy, Azurestar asked him to become a Leader alongside them, and he agreed. A once quiet, snarky, and arrogant aviator mellowed out into a tired, authoritative, co-leader. He's still improper and cracks jokes at inappropriate times, but Sharpstar has been known for being a workaholic, overworking himself silently in order to keep up with the clan, even if he falls short. His Leader mark is a star on his chest, etched through by scars.
Policy on outsiders: Outsiders are generally accepted after both Leaders consult each other and their council. Both must speak to the cat that wishes to join CoveyClan before a decision can be made. The guidelines on what situations can call for a cat joining CoveyClan are rather strict, and reserved for situations that result in life or death.
