CoveyClanners are typically tall, lean cats with soft and feathery fur. Their coats have downy feathers mixed in, giving it a soft texture and assisting them in flight! CoveyClanners have small wings for short burst of flight, as well as feathery tufts around their ankles. Their bones have a unique honeycomb structure to stay light enough to fly without sacrificing strength. Under their feathers is a thin membrane similar to that of a dragon's wings to assist them in flight even during molting season. Their fur and eye colors are very diverse, ranging from bright unnatural hues to neutral, warm tones. They can be based on any birds you can think of, apart from dinosaurs. CoveyClanners may have different wing shapes depending on the birds they are based around, and be better or worse at certain facets of flight as a result. A cat with elliptical wings would be more suitable to short bursts of flight as opposed to a cat with soaring wings, who would excel with gliding over wind currents. Some CoveyClan cats have bird-like legs that begin at their elbows. These talons have the same sharpness as a CavernClanner's gemstone claws. Their hind legs will typically have toes which allow them to hold prey while in flight.

CoveyClanners can fly for several hours before needing to rest. The fastest a Guardian can fly naturally is 50mph, or about .80 miles per minute! CoveyClanners can reach a dizzying altitude of 13,000 feet, though most do not bother, as there is a high risk of altitude sickness.
CoveyClanners also possess aerokinesis- the ability to move, control, and manipulate wind! This skill can be used to help move wildfires away from camp, throw predators off of their trail, or boost a Guardian or Leader's speed in flight- though this is incredibly dangerous.
CoveyClan Leaders have much larger wings than everybody else in the Clan, allowing for much longer flights and greater speeds- similar to accipitridae such as hawks. A CoveyClan leader can fly over 100mph in small bursts! Their tailfeathers are also much longer. Their front legs fade into sharp talons instead of paws, allowing them a much stronger grasp. These talons are far sharper than the average CoveyClanner's and can slice through meat with ease. Their aerokinetic abilities are also much stronger than the average guardian's. CoveyClan Leader marks are usually on their forehead or chest.

CoveyClan cats are generally tall and angular cats with soft, feathery fur, although other CoveyClanners are shorter, larger, or have a different body build. They may be based on a tropical or subtropical bird. These cats have wings designed for short bursts of flight, with a wingspan around 2x the length of their body, from nose to the base of their tail. Their wings are never larger than this, unless they are the leader of their Clan, but can be shorter. CoveyClanner tailfeathers are around ⅓ (33%) to ½ (50%) of the length of a cat’s body, but can be shorter. A Leader’s tailfeathers are around ⅔ (66%) to ⅘ (80%) of the length of a cat’s body, but can be shorter.
In numerical terms, using the average housecat’s body proportions;
Guardian wingspans are roughly 36” across, and 18” for 1 wing
Guardian tailfeathers are roughly 6” to 9” long
Leader wingspans are roughly 72” across, and 36” for 1 wing
Leader tailfeathers are roughly 12” to 15” long
CoveyClan leaders have a wingspan up to four times the length of their body, from nose to the base of their tail. CoveyClan leaders also always present with talons on the front legs instead of paws.
CoveyClanners take after any tropical or subtropical bird, and resemble them in terms of color, pattern, wing shape, and flight. Although they typically behave like gallinaceous birds, and only use flight to escape threats and to move to another location.
The following traits appear on all CoveyClanners, but can be missing due to accident or injury;
