This page only goes over the rules of statistics for character creation and roleplay. If you are looking for a guide on battle and the limitations of the kinetic system, see the Battle & Kinetic Guide
Stats are a modifier to your cats rolls! There is no math involved beyond addition. Whenever your cat makes a roll, they add the number of their stat to it. For instance, Musclepaw has a Strength stat of 3, and is trying to shove a rock. He would roll a D20+3!
Strength: Your cat's strength- how hard they hit and how heavy of a load they can move. Dragging, grappling, pushing, physical attacks, lifting, etc. [ Cavern +1 ]
Stealth: Your cat's ability to stalk or evade others without detection. Sneaking, whispering, stalking, hunting, etc.
Speed: Your cat's ability to move quickly, as well as their endurance. Racing, chasing, reaction time, etc. [ Covey +1 ]
Dexterity: Your cat's ability to move with grace, as well as flexibility. Leaping, agility, grace, skill with paws, etc. [ Tide +1 ]
Perception: Your cat's ability to notice the things around them. Identifying a clanmate is off, noticing a rotting log, picking up a trail, etc. [ Verdure +1 ]
Kinesis: Your cat's ability to use their magical capabilities. Any and all attempts at magic. [ Leaders +4 , HalfClanners -2, Voltaic +1]
Loners may have a +1 on any stat.
Clan-blood specific, cats whom move clans can not learn these abilities. -2 to HalfClan cats, who have a choice of one or the other stat.
Swim: Your cat's ability to be one with the underwater currents and get through treacherous underwater areas. TideClan exclusive.
Flight: Your cat's ability to fly along wind currents, take risky drops, make sharp turns, and move through the air swiftly. CoveyClan exclusive.
Burrow: Your cat's ability to tunnel through the ground quickly and efficiently, without causing collapse, or severe damage to the ground, or themselves. CavernClan exclusive.
Ascension: Your cat's ability to quickly scale steep, treacherous terrain and trees without causing injury or falling. VerdureClan exclusive.
Guardians, Specialty Roles, and Healers get a total of 12 stat points to separate between their 7 stats.
Leaders get a total of 18 stat points to separate between their 7 stats
Leaders +4 to kinesis.
Deputies +2 to a stat of choice.
Healers +2 to dexterity.
SR Captains +2 to kinesis.
Mediators +2 to perception.
Apprentices passively earn 1 point/month until they have reached their 12 base points. Their age corresponds to how many points they have. Here's a list for simplicy:
4 moons - 4 points
5 moons - 5 points
6 moons - 6 points
7 moons - 7 points
8 moons - 8 points
9 moons - 9 points
10 moons - 10 points
11 moons - 11 points
12 moons+ - 12 points
Kits start at 4 stat points. Their Kinesis and Clan Specific stats ALWAYS start at 0. Because of this, all characters must have a minimum of 4 points applied to their standard set of statistics.
1- A critical failure. Whatever you were trying to do most likely backfires onto yourself.
2-4 - A failure. there was an attempt made; but it didn't really land.
5-9 - Just a slight miss. Maybe your claws caught some fur, but no damage was done.
10-13 - A light attack. Perhaps something caused your attack to stumble and lose balance before you could land a solid strike.
14-17 - A solid, hearty strike. Pretty good.
18-19 - A powerful strike ! This should do some damage.
20- This is your critical hit. Whatever things you're trying to do here succeed !! This is a strike that can take ears off.
While the roleplay follows a standard 50/50 system of success and failure, there is one variation to this. When attempting to counter another player's successful roll, that roll must be HIGHER than the original roll. A cat sneaking out and rolling a 20 in Stealth would not be caught by a cat rolling 10+ in Perception- only if that player rolled 20+. The same applies to attacks. A player can not wholly negate the damage of a 15 if they roll a 12.
Additional stat points can be earned by participating in events, COTM, and art challenges! They may also be purchased in the Stardust Shop for 2,500 stardust each. Earned or purchased stats may be used on any character.
For Guardians, all stats have a cap of 6, including bought or earned points. Clan Specific and Role Specific buffs do not apply to this limit. Only 3/7 stats can be fully maxed. Stat points can not be transferred or redistributed after being applied unless a Stat Redistributor is purchased from the Stardust Shoppe.
