The world of Arcana is vast and unknown, however, nestled in the Great Valley, between tall, sweeping mountains and warmed by the ocean air, lies the lands in which the Clans reside in. With a warm and humid climate, prey and cold are typically not an issue for these clans. Rainforest coats half of the valley, which is frequently showered in rainstorms. Many magical beasts and flora reside within the valley, safe from the fierce predators of the Farlands.
The Great Valley, rather than having the four seasons, goes through two seasons instead- Wet Season from December to May, and the Dry Season from June to November. The former is characterized by strong storms, humid air, cooler weather, and swollen rivers, while the latter is characterized by blistering heat, low water supply, wildfires, and a dry atmosphere.
Swift, dextrous, and playful, TideClan is an oceanic Clan that resides just off the coast of Arcana. With a territory full of colorful corals and fish, TideClan cats spend their days well-fed and lounging with one another. Born with fins and barbels to help them traverse their territories, TideClan is a colorful bunch. They are the most creative of the clans, and as such, produce a large variety of bracelets, necklaces, wraps, and other trinkets to exchange with the other clans!

Strong, tough, and hardy, CavernClan resides within the treacherous mountainous territories of Arcana, both traversing the craggy surface territory and tunneling beneath the earth. CavernClan is the most musical and rowdy of clans, spending their days roughhousing and creating songs as they burrow through the ground. Coated with gemstones and other bug-like features, CavernClan cats are well-adapted to their tough environment. Despite their hot-headed nature, CavernClan is a massive family, supporting one another through thick and thin. They produce large amounts of bowls and gemstone beads to exchange to other clans.
Quiet, calm, and peaceful, VerdureClan cats live within the densely packed rainforest and jungles of Arcana, growing their own supply of food within its humid dome. VerdureClan is the most diverse of the clans, a melting pot of all sorts of culture that has formed its own identity. With horns and plants sprouting from their pelts, VerdureClan are one with their forested environment. VerdureClan is the most religious of all Clans, with traditions and customs that tie themselves to their ancestors. VerdureClan is the largest producer of fresh fruit, woven goods, and strong, magic-grown wood to exchange to other clans.
Swift, sharp, and aggressive, CoveyClan lives beneath the exposed skies of the savannah, and spend their days running the plains or soaring the skies. With hollowed bones and large, feathery wings, CoveyClan is quick and swift enough to dodge the threats that come with the plains that make up their territory. They are the smartest and best hunters out of all of the Clans, and are fiercely loyal to one another- keeping their secrets close. CoveyClan is the largest producer of raw goods, trading Fairwing silk, Embolin scales, and more to the other clans.
Currently, there are three known outsider groups: Voltaic, loners, and kittypets. Each have their own unique qualities and stories. These groups tend to bring more complex, man-made goods to the clans, such as glass and cloth.

The Gathering Island is a small piece of land in the heart of the Great Valley, where all the clans gather during the full moon to announce the latest news, meet with friends, and exchange goods and services with one another. The Gatherings also act as ways for the Clans to obtain information about one another during strenuous times. Stepping stones and a fallen log allow VerdureClan and CavernClan safe passage onto the island, while CoveyClan and TideClan fly and swim respectively. During the Dry Season, the river waters lower enough to trudge through to the island on paw. The Gathering Island is under a truce- no blood may be shed during the meetings, lest they incur StarClan's wrath. Any violence at a Gathering results in the immediate dismissal of the meeting and fierce judgement to the assailant's clan.
The Gathering Island is primarily made up of soft sand, however, tall grasses grow closer to the center and towards the Leader's announcement rock. Patches of this grass are short and worn down in the highest traffic areas of the Gathering Island. A small ledge resides beneath the announcement rock, where the deputies of the clans sit until the announcements have ended. Trees coat one side of the island where the Leader's rock sits. Another small island sits just off the shore, where cats may go to converse or play after the announcements are over.
The Moonpools are thermal limestone terraces that reside on a quiet, small island just south of the border with the Farlands, which resemble the Travertines of Pamukkale. Nocat beyond the Healers and Leaders knows the location of the Moonpools, and they are a well-kept secret as to preserve the one location that the Clans are able to commune with StarClan and the Divines. However, the Moonpools are entirely invisible to the average Guardian. These pools reside beneath the river during the vast majority of the time, and only rise up out of the waters during the half-moon, or when the presence of a Healer or Leader is detected.
The Moonpools are pristine and quiet, with warm waters undisturbed by wind or rain. They catch the glint of the moon and sky up above and reflect the stars. A touch of the nose or drink of the water is enough to turn visitors drowsy. However, if a Guardian or Apprentice manages to make it to the Moonpools during the window they are above the waters, they do not dream, nor are they able to communicate with their ancestors.
The Farlands is the term used for any territory that rests beyond the borders of the Great Valley, full of fierce predators and oddities yet to be explored by the Clans.
Multiple types of overgrown beasts reside here, from large-winged dragons to creatures as sharp and cunning as the Clan cats themselves. Dense forests, star-touching mountains, deep, dark oceans, and vast tundras can all be found here- but this is unknown to the Clans. On occasion, mysterious and curious cats will appear from the Farlands.
