Pushing boundaries and exploring the unknown.

The Outsides of Arcane are unique in their features and lack thereof. They tend to be hardy enough to face the difficult and varying terrains of the Farlands and have adapted to have very strong survival skills. Outsiders are typically curious vagabonds that prefer not to be tied down to only one location. They love to explore! Clan cats typically see outsiders in a negative light as they distrust their loyalties and tend to be rather flighty. After the Fall of Gale-Soul, however, Voltaic are seen as allies and may be welcomed into territories depending on the clan.
The Farlands are vastly unexplored by Clan cats. However, outsiders are known to roam these lands and sometimes pop their heads into Clan territory out of curiosity.
The Farlands geographically vary depending on where you are. In some areas, they are as rocky and dangerous as CavernClan's soaring mountains, while other locations have flat plains similar to CoveyClan.
A small, newer human settlement falls a distance away from the clans. Brave loners who wander human settlements may venture out to visit the Clans- however, they typically prefer the carefree life of living alongside humans. This human settlement is medieval and high-fantasy, not possessing any technological advancements.

Voltaic are tall, feline-like animals that roam the outskirts of the Farlands in small groups. Unlike the Clans, they have multiple separate camps across Arcana, coming and going to each depending on the standing they have with one another. Most Volatic wander alone, or in small groups with their family and friends. They are the creations of the God of Electricity, Ohm, and have a unique bond with their Divine.
High amounts of Holy energy in these creatures shows in sproutings of feathers along their backs, legs, and faces. These feathers can range between black and white, but are never colored, although some may be reflective or iridescent
Voltaics have large, deep-set eyes and pupils that never slit. They all possess a small, semi-opposable thumb. Some Voltaic have four ears, but most have two. Their colors are only natural, plus any hue of yellow or orange. Their hind legs have an extra supporting joint for high-speed running and leaping. All Voltaic have a lightning-bolt shape at the end of their tails. They have heat pits along their mouths, and their noses are furred like those of rabbits rather than cats.
All Voltaic possess electric energy, which they can use to shock, stun, paralyze, or boost their speed. When using large amounts of energy, the feathers that run along their bodies grow in size. Some may possess pseudo-wings when in this state, but they are non-functional. Unlike other species of animals, Voltaic are born with all the kinetic energy they may ever use. Dark spotting along their pelts indicates how much of their energy they've used up. Voltaic near the end of their life are almost entirely dark-patterned.

Loners are featureless! They do not possess any special powers, traits, or unnatural colors. They look like your average cat!
Some loners will wander the Farlands. These loners tend to be extremely hardy as they can face the magical predators of the Farlands without any magical assistance. They tend to be large, muscular and can be seen as rather intimidating due to their resilience! Some loners carry enchanted items with them that help them survive the Farlands, such as protection charms blessed by Overseers.
Other loners live in the nearby human settlement. These loners aren't your average kittypet! They're cats that are usually used as pest control within the settlements... but they definitely don't mind being with humans! Some of these cats are totally fine with snuggling up with a human and are even named by them, but they do not strictly live in a human's house. These loners may venture to the Clans for trading purposes, but typically prefer the easier life within their human settlement as opposed to dangerous Clan life.
