Cockatrice are unique bird creatures that resemble a chicken, but with delicate membrane wings akin to a bats, long necks, long legs and spurs. and a long and reptilian tail. They're the size of a large turkey or goose, with the same wattles and combs as a chicken.
These creatures can be found almost any territory, though they are most commonly found within the jungles of VerdureClan.

Cockatrice, much like their chicken cousins, live in flocks with a dominant male, a handful of younger subordinate males, females, and their offspring. The males often fight for dominance, sparring with the spurs on their powerful legs. When they're not fighting, they spend most of their time foraging for food.
The Cockatrice is extremely aggressive to creatures larger than itself, pecking and biting in a frenzy in order to get an opportunity to petrify it and make its escape. It's greatest weapon is it's ability to turn creatures to stone should they make eye contact with each other, making it a death sentence to anycat who doesn't actively shield their eyes from it's stare.

Cockatrice can come in a variety of colors, most notably reds and greens, with their wings and tails coming in neutral colors like blacks and browns. The most striking part of their appearance is their eyes, which are reptilian in nature and extremely vibrant, even glowing in the darkness, making them hard to look away.
If a Clan cat comes across a group of Cockatrice, it's best to turn tail and run. They're violent, aggressive, and powerful birds with a lust for killing. However, if one is taken down, they do make a tasty and fulfilling meal.
