Fairwings are small, ungulate-like creatures that run about the plains of CoveyClan territory. Fairwings have two pairs of ears and long, colorful horns that match the color of their eyes, ears, claws, and hooves. They have scaly, bird-like forelegs, and a head similar in structure to a deer's. Fairwings have long fangs that can spray a deadly acid, and have a long, snake-like tongue. Sometimes, they have wispy wings sprouting from their backs made of water vapor.
These creatures can most often be found soaring through the skies on wings made out of water vapor. Their tails leave a cloud trail through the sky. Fairwings can be found creating elaborate designs through the skies with their mates. On hotter, drier days, they can not create these wings, and are delegated to being a ground-dwelling creature. During this time, they search for a mate. Fairwings lay numerous eggs over this time, and produce a strong silk to cover them with. Fairwings cling to their egg bundles and let the wind roll them to their new nesting grounds, where their children hatch and tear through the silk.

Fairwings come in an array of colors, from oranges to blues to pinks and greens. They can be found in just about any color or pattern imaginable, making them stand out against the dry CoveyClan plains like a sore thumb.
The silk produced by Fairwings is used by the Clan cats, as once it has been dried, it becomes strong and elastic. Their silk can be collected before or after the eggs hatch, and is braided into strong thread. This threading is often used for jewelry, or can be threaded through a Burrowing Lizard's spine to suture wounds shut.
