There are three main codes within the clans. Healers and Mediators, due to their special roles within the clans, follow their own separate codes.
Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
Elders, Queens, sick or injured cats and Kits must be fed before Apprentices and Guardians. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the Elders.
Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
A Kit must be at least four moons old to become an Apprentice.
Newly appointed Guardians will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their Guardian name.
A cat cannot be made Deputy without having mentored at least one Apprentice.
The Deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.
After the death, retirement, promotion (to a leader status), or exile of the Deputy, the new Deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
No Guardian can neglect a Kit in pain or danger, even if the Kit is from a different Clan.
The word of the Clan leader is law.
An honorable Guardian does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the Guardian Code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
The code is flexible about leadership challenges. Cats may challenge a weak or cruel leader if their Clan is in danger, and if their leadership threatens the Clan, the code expects a Guardian to challenge their Leader.

⋆Healer's Code
1. Healers are allowed to cross territories, both to help other Clans and travel to the Moon Pools.
2. Healers CAN have a mate and kits, so long as there is another fully trained Healer, and they never let their personal feelings get in the way of their duties.
3. There can be a maximum of FOUR healers per Clan. Two full Healers, and two apprentices. If the apprentices become full Healers, they may not take on their own apprentice until their mentors retire.
4. Healers must learn battle moves.
5. Healers must do everything they can to help a cat or kit in need and cannot refuse to treat a sick or injured cat.
6. A Healer may only discuss dreams, prophecies, etc. with their leader or other medicine cats at the monthly meeting; dreams of an otherwise prophetic nature should not be disclosed to any outside parties, or any other cats in the Clans.
7. A Healer may only retire after their apprentice has been given their full name.
8. A Healer shares dreams with only StarClan and the Divines.
Traditions
1. Healers meet once a month under the half-moon to seek guidance from StarClan and discuss Clan health with the other Healers. It is also custom to gift herbs to the Healers of other Clans when they’re able/ after the first harvest, to bond and also make sure everybody has enough herbs. Especially the herbs that are exclusive to each Clan.
2. Whenever a leader needs to speak with StarClan, a Healer will accompany them, unless there are too many sick cats to leave.
3. Healers join deputies in getting their four lives, to bear witness.
4. Healer apprentices are not named by the Leader, but rather by the current Healer at the half-moon gathering, who performs the naming ceremony in front of the other Healers.
⋆Mediator's Code
1. Mediators must move clans each season. The cycle goes as follows: VerdureClan -> Coveyclan -> TideClan -> CavernClan.
2. Mediators must mediate between clans without bias during disputes.
3. Mediators can cross borders. However, they are not permitted to hunt in territories other than their own at that time. Herb gathering is not permitted unless accompanied by a healer.
4. A Mediator does not have any suffix with their name and will only live by their prefix. This is to disconnect them from clan life.
5. An apprentice can be picked by the Mediator from their birth clan. This apprentice will stay with the Mediator throughout their travels. When the Mediator decides that it is time for them to graduate, the apprentice will drop their 'paw suffix.
6. Mediators are not allowed to have a mate or kits until they retire from their role. After retiring, they may permanently reside in a clan of their choosing.
7. Mediators cannot participate in any battles. However, to ensure their safety, a Mediator must learn battle moves.
8. A Mediator may only retire after their apprentice has graduated.
