Sprites are NON-THREATENING.

Sprites are very small, wisp-like creatures that are seen once a year during the late dry season (Sep-Nov) across all territories, solely at night. They come in a wide range of colors, typically pale, and feel very soft. They have a tiny pair of eyes, and some may have mouths. Most sprites are white or pale pink, blue, and green. Sprites have a rare chance to turn into a Wraith if they can not find a new vessel, corrupted by their unstable magical composition. However, most of the time they re-dissolve into energy which is used up elsewhere.
Nights where they are visible are often full of ceremonies and celebration, as most cats believe the Sprites to be messengers of StarClan, and families returning from the dead to celebrate with their loved ones. These nights are typically full of feasting and celebrations. Loved ones may put out their deceased families treasures and favorite foods during this time. While most cats agree on what they are, there is a slight debate among the clans about their true nature- most common guesses being that they are the dead, purely magical beings, or messengers of the Divines. In reality, Sprites are the collection of energy from magical creatures who have passed on, given a new form to seek out a new vessel to inhabit. Though others are made simply from the excess energy in the world. The former of the two sometimes carry a few hazy memories. On occasion, sprites attempt to inhabit an already living creature, but they are fairly weak, and the most that comes of it is a headache and strange feeling. Sometimes these attempts can provide a second wind for the elderly or the sick, but it doesn’t last. These second winds are usually seen as a foretelling of death.
Sprites can not speak, but if they land on a cat, they can sometimes transfer a few of their memories- typically blurry feelings and emotions- before floating off into the air again. It's said that these sprites can predict one's future, and the memories they share are omens for the cats that land on them; be it good or bad. They are technically edible, but make cats very ill. Similarly to Phantoms, most think that cats who eat them are cursed for life.

Sprites can come in a wild variety of pastel or pale colors. They are typically very small and, at their largest, are just the size of a paw. They seemingly float with no regard for direction, simply allowing themselves to be taken by the wind as if they were dandelions dancing in the sky.
