Embolins are POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.

Embolins are relatively large creatures that are almost indistinguishable from Pangolins. They have a dark, dusty brown color with a paler underside. Their protective scales are hard and keratinous. Embolins reside primarily in the sandier, rockier locations between the CoveyClan and TideClan borders. They make their homes in burrows within these sandy grounds.
These creatures are largely passive to any and all creatures. Their protective scales are usually enough to discourage predators looking for a bite to eat. However, they have a defense mechanism when their shells can not protect them. Embolins scales can reach great temperatures, and small gaps beneath them secrete a flammable fluid that lights these creatures with blue flames. Their scales can become white hot. They are often blamed for bushfires within CoveyClan territory.

All Embolin look the same, all having dusty brown scales with lighter underbellies. There are no differences between the males and females.
Clan cats have multiple uses for Embolin scales. When killed, their scales retain their heat for weeks at a time. It's a very risky procedure to kill an Embolin in full defense mode, and as a result, it's preferred to slay them while they are mid-heating, for simple warm scales. These scales are used to make a plant bed warmer to encourage germination of seeds, to keep newborns without mothers warm, and to warm up cats in shock. Extremely hot scales are to be handled very, very carefully, and are only ever used when a healer must cauterize a severe wound.
