Virtueblossom is ???
art by bewilderbark. Virtueblossom's middle stage.
Virtueblossom was a massive, celestial being with dark fur that was striped across by bands of blues and purples, mimicking the color of the night sky. She had starry markings across her body, with large white markings on her forehead and shoulders, and white, pupilless eyes. She could assume any kind of clan features in this state.
Her middle stage was primarily black, with bright white markings breaking through the decay that stuck to her fur. Stardust coated her pelt. She sported five legs in this form, and gemstones on her snout.
When Virtueblossom was Shatteredshriek, she was monstrously large, with multitudes of different gemstones piercing through her flanks. She had a mouth filled with too many teeth, and an additional set of jaws within. She had six legs in this form.
Virtueblossom is now dead, with the last of her energy having been spent gifting VerdureClan a new home.

Virtueblossom had very little personality of her own. The vast majority of her decisions and beliefs were formed from the souls that she harbored within her body, to the point of eroding her own memories and personality into a pool of conflicted emotions. However, in her final days, an overbearing amount of caring to the Clans, and VerdureClan, dominated her behavior and decisions. Her relationship and bond to Dawnsprig was the only decision she'd made of her own volition, to no benefit to herself.
As Shatteredshriek, she was nothing short of cruel and vicious, the guilt and pain she'd felt translating into pleasure. When she was corrupted, she killed and hunted without second thought, caring for nothing but filling her own belly.
Virtueblossom was originally Shattered, one of the first members of Cavern's hardy group to settle into living in the Great Valley. The majority of her original history is unknown- however, she was renowned as a very beautiful cat, which only grew when the Divines blessed each group with magic and features. Shattered took on the name Shatteredshriek, flaunting her angelite crystals every which way. However, these crystals did not bode well to the damp and humid environment of CavernClan. They cracked and chipped away, losing their beauty and sending Shatteredshriek spiraling. Her jealousy towards her other clanmates only grew with their jabs, rapidly devolving until a string of disappearances and reappareances began to plague CavernClan.
The truth behind them was Shatteredshriek herself, attacking and knocking out cats to rip their gemstones out for herself. The molly grew quickly obsessed with restoring her own appearance, caught in the storm of grief and a rapid downward spiral. Eventually, her practices slipped up- and a cat wound up dead at her claws. Guilt and terror consumed Shatteredshriek, but the truth behind the murder was never discovered. The disappearances ceased, and Shatteredshriek found solace in a molly with a similar fate as her own- Wyrmwind.
However, she could not shake her desires to return to what once was, and to restore Wyrmwind's own appearance, too. The disappearances began again, and both Wyrmwind and Shatteredshriek vanished, too, never returning like the other cats had. Search parties found the pair shortly thereafter, both severely injured and unconscious, with Wyrmwind coated in stolen gemstones and Shatteredshriek unconscious from blood loss.
Wyrmwind was the first to wake and inform the clan that it was Shatteredshriek behind the disappearances, and that it was her who had embedded her pelt with the stolen gemstones. Before justice could be brought upon her, however, Shatteredshriek succumbed to infection before ever waking.
She was the first of the Clans to die whos behavior did not fit in with StarClan. Curious as to how their creation ended in such a way, the Divines decided to punish Shatteredshriek in a peculiar way. They stripped her of her former identity, saddling her with the primary duty to maintain the peace within the Clans by eating away thoughts of war, disease, nightmares, and more in the name of the Divines. A never-ending task that would only grow larger and larger. Her secondary task was to harbor the souls of sinners like herself, keeping them sealed away from the Divine's Garden of Stars prior to the Dark Forest's conceptualization. Believing she had been given a second chance, Shatteredshriek took to her duties, feeling as though she could be absolved of her sins the longer and harder she worked alongside Silverpelt and Justicemaw. The Clans hailed her as the Silver Serpent, a kind spirit that would chase away bad dreams.
However, the more negativity and cruelty she consumed, the more corrupted her spirit became. Her personality became chipped away by the hatred she swallowed, turning her silvery form inky and monstrous as her own Soul became lost in the fray. The Clans began to fear her presence instead, sending her falling from grace for the second time. With such hate in her heart, Shatteredshriek became bitter, aggressive, and angry, invoking nightmares and terror into the Clans instead of her original job of peacekeeping.
Seeing what their plan had become, the Divines created a proper cage for Shatteredshriek. They banished her to the Place Beyond the Veil, an isolated hell for both her and the cats that behaved so cruelly. Enraged with the Divines and the Clans for forsaking her, Shatteredshriek wandered endlessly, seeking out food to fill the void a lack of nightmares and Souls left within her. Using her ability to rip into other realms, Shatteredshriek hunted down cats that were banished into the Dark Forest, hungry enough to eat flesh instead of memory. Over time, she lost sense of herself, becoming little more than a ravenous beast. That was until Justicemaw was banished as well, joining her in the realm of decay. Distantly recalling her own fondness for her working partners, Justicemaw was left alone, until he, too, became a beast like her—Splitmuzzle.
