Ohmpalas are PREY/POTENTIALLY THREATENING.
VerudreClanners CAN be based on them.
Ohmpala are colorful medium sized, slender-bodied antelope found in the dry plains of CoveyClan territory. The males have long, lyre-shaped ridged and metallic horns protruding from their heads. They have long ears for regulating body temperature and listening for predators and large round eyes with long lashes for keeping sand out of their eyes. Their bodies are built for speed, and their colorfulbodies to ward off predators.
Ohmpala are diurnal, mostly active during the cool mornings and hiding in shade during the hot peaks, resting at night. They live in a few herd types, the first consisting of a dominant male and his harem of females. In these types of herds the male is territorial, defending his females from competing males. The second herd type is all female, and the third type is all juvenile males, looking for a group of females to claim for his own.
Similar to their cousins the Impalas, these antelope consider grooming an important part of life. They spend a lot of time grooming themselves, using their long necks to reach around onto their backs and pluck insects. Allogrooming is equally an important social interaction amongst the Ohmpalas, and is usually done to pass the time during the hot peaks of the day.
Perhaps the biggest difference between the Ohmpala and other species of antelope is not only their color, but their ability to harness electrical energy. Using their metallic horns, the Ohmpala stores the electricity produced by both Plainrunners and the weather to discharge against threats. Unsurprisingly, their fur is resistant against electricity, but an electrically charged Ohmpala has spiky fur around the neck and haunches. They often cause wildfires on accident when trying to protect themselves in the dry season as the sparks meet the dry grass.
Ohmpalas are very colorful antelopes, ranging in a variety of cool colors like blues and purples, fit with black stripes on their haunches, tails, faces, and necks. Their horns are always metallic in nature, tipped in red and black.
Ohmpalas are considered prey to the cats of CoveyClan, considering it's not an electrically charged one. A dead Ohmpala might be skinned for it's electrically resistant fur, which is helpful when hunting other Ohmpala and Plainrunners, considering both harness electricity.
