Learning Experience
Our international virtual language exchanges at Tucker are where Tucker students in Spanish classes will have a synchronous conversation with a student of comparable age studying English in a country where the target language is spoken. Our main partner school is COLMEX in Tulancingo, MX in the state of Hidalgo. Tucker students have an opportunity to engage with a peer learner in a foreign country, sharing and learning about global issues and sharing about their lives in Henrico, Virginia and as Tucker students.
What did the student(s) learn about this experience:
"The exchanges allowed me to collaborate with a learning peer from Mexico who has the same level of English that I have in Spanish. My partner is my age, and we share many things in common. This makes the exchanges interesting and fun." - Tucker Student
"My partner and I were able to develop a cultural awareness of each other's student experience in different countries, which was amazing, because we are not able to learn such details in a classroom. It was such an enriching experience." - COLMEX Student
Thank you to the innovators who helped make this experience possible:
